Jody Shelley of the Philadelphia Flyers has been suspended a total of 10 games and fined for a hit that drove Darryl Boyce of the Toronto Maple Leafs face-first into the boards on Wednesday.

Shelley will miss the rest of the preseason and the Flyers' first five regular-season games for the hit, which drew a five-minute major for boarding. He will be eligible to return for the Flyers' game Oct. 20 against Washington.

Immediately after the hit, Toronto's Jay Rosehill fought with Shelley, with both players earning five-minute fighting penalties and Shelley getting a game misconduct.
