And if Kobe doesn't get the nod over West, he sure as hell does over Baylor. Elgin Baylor was hugely detrimental to the Lakers in the 60's. The gameplan consisted of him going one on one, then West coming down and going one on one. When they got Wilt West changed his patterns a little bit, Baylor did not. He was forced out, and the year he retired they won the championship. In fact, the day he retired, they played a game. That game was the first win of the 33 game win streak they went on.

I know rick fox started at the three, and he was very underrated as far as a key to our success goes, but the triangle is a dynamic offense where depending on the situation rotations of players and matchups change often, Offensively kobe, being 6'7" ish is more suited ,at times, to be at the three, maybe not officially, but certainly in the phil jackson-hybrid-dynamic-triangle that they run.by the way your avatar is the best. He cant be classified as the 3 if his main position that he plays 4/5's of the time is the 2...This post wasnt a shot at you, but a truthful answer..</div>look,this can be argued both ways..Kobe and elgin are both 2 of the greatest lakers of all-time.Yes,I agree that baylor did lead the lakers in the 60's/maybe early 70's.He may have been scoring alot and putting up great numbers,but Jerry West was still the face of the Lakers.Elgin Baylor even said that when him and Jerry West were being honored for being part of the 50 greatest players list/awards.My arguement about kobe playing small forward was that kobe does play that position sometimes and because of that he can put him at small forward if he wants to.Especially if it's just to make room at guard for jerry west or elgin baylor.
