THIS was good to see. Questions were swirling about his speed. I think any questions were answered! He made everyone look like they had rocks in their socks as he ran past and over defender after defender. Our OL and WR blocking was insane!! I loved what I saw - lot's of aggressive blocking and just an attack mentality. Our team confidence is growing. To put LMJ's 288 rushing yards in perspective - Colorado's TOTAL offensive yards on Sat were only 25 more or you could say LMJ had nearly as many rushing yards in one game as Oregon State has in THREE games - ! Stoops said he couldn't be stopped. Man, it's great being a Duck!! Let me say it again....it's GREAT being a DUCK! By the time he had finished slashing his way through and around the Wildcats on Saturday night, he had a school record 288 yards. He also broke the Oregon mark for career rushing touchdowns with two scores to lead the No. 10 Ducks to a 56-31 victory over Arizona in their Pac-12 opener. James, who also had a 51-yard punt return, averaged 12.2 yards per carry in his second consecutive and fifth career 200-yard rushing game. He broke Oregon’s single-game rushing record of 257 yards by Ontario Smith against Washington State in 2001. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recap?gid=201109240057
He was absolutely amazing last night. I was saying last night in the game thread that I think he could break the PAC-10 (it was a PAC-10 record) all-time record for rushing yardage if he stayed for his senior season. I don't think he will, but that's amazing.
Is it true OSU has 4 TD's on the season and Oregon has 27? Oregon's true FR combine for more points than OSU on the season. Crazy, right? Check out this link for NCAA rushing stats. LMJ #1, but #2 has 42 more carries, #3 has 33 more. Insane productivity considering the flat performance in game 1 vs LSU. If James stays healthy, he's going to have crazy stats. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/stats/bycategory?cat=Rushing&conference=I-A_all
I either didn't know or just forgot that LMJ wanted to leave Oregon during his freshman year. That was a weird story that one announcer told.
I remember hearing about it. He was homesick. It's understandable for a guy from Texas to feel that way.
Nope. He was a 3* (scout) w/ a 40th rank by position. As far as I see, he received a few offers: TCU, Miss St, Nebraska, Baylor, Houston, etc. He was part of that nice 08 class that included Masoli, Jordan, Kaddu, Boyett, Thomas, Alonso and others.... Interesting note - Harper was a higher rated RB recruit that year (Oregon) that received other Pac offers and offers from other schools like ND. Funny things...those rankings...
