CandidatesLebronKobeTmacLebron will win, i'll put money on it. The mvp race is a joke though. I thought tmac was the mvp of the season had the rockets made the playoffs but they didn't.

I think its gonna be Kobe he carries an awful team night in and night out and if they go anywhere its his doing. My darkhorse candidate would be amare coming off injury

1 you've gotta add somebody from the Suns + how did you think McGrady was the MVP? under 50 games played only 24.4PPG and his team wasn't doing good?

My #1 candidate is Lebron, and then Kobe is 2nd. Again, the Lakers won't finish high enough for Kobe to win it..

You have to put your money on Lebron at this point. He is the best player in the league and he has improved every season that he has been in the league. Which means he will improve again. Dirk will get 2nd and Kobe will get 3rd

Kobe has a good chance, his team can only get better. But LeBron will probably take it if he keeps it up and maybe gets more help.I dont like the MVP system anymore though.. it should go to the best player in the NBA, look at all the times MJ and Shaq didnt get it, it's a shame. If not MVP there should be an award for being the best

If LeBron goes back to the Cavs and they keep Drew Gooden, I see him winning MVP. It's him or Dwyane Wade.LeBron will lead the Cavs to 50+ wins, while averaging 33 PPG, 6.5 APG, and 7 RPGDWade will further seperate himself from Shaq, leading Miami to 50+ wins, 30 PPG, 6 APG, and 6 RPG

Lebron's contract expires in 2007, not now...So there is no question he will be playing for the Cavs next year...

If Wizards win more than 50 games next year, Gil will win it, lol. Washington hasnt been that successful in YEARS, so that have to give the MVP award to Gil. [IMG]

I'd say Lebron, Kobe, Dirk and maybe TMac are good candidates. The Rockets are a good team and if TMac can stay healthy and they get a decent seed in the playoffs he might be one of the top candidates. No Eliite, they should not change it. You're only saying that because your favorite player is Kobe. The award is not about the best player in the league. YoungCus Kobe wasn't robbed of anything. The 3 others with more votes than him deserved it more or just the same as he did. At least they took their teams somewhere.

Right now I cannot predict who will win this great award. Lebron James should be a contender if he continues to play the same way he did this year, and be the same leader he has been. Kobe Bryant is a contender but I hope Jordan Farmar doesnt become his slave and give him the ball on every possesion, otherwise,Kobe shoots, scores. If the Suns have a decent squad,Steve Nash will be a leader and guide them to the finals (hopefully). Another contender in my mind would have to be Dirk. He was a great leader but choked at times. Its all good though. Dwyane Wade can be up there too. He is very young and talented and can be a top contender next year. But then again, its too early for me to tell...

If he gets 33 points, he isnt going to be able to get that many assists. So either he is going to average 30 points and around those assists or 31 points and around 5 to 5.5 assists a game. Rebounds may be one to high.

You should get at least something for being the best in the NBA (or the world I guess). They can leave the MVP aone, but I think it's unfair to those who are stuck with a mediocre team and playing the best basketball and the winner gets an award for being on a good team.Plus that award would really distinguish who is the best.

And Stock was way more valuable then Nash, I'd pick him any day :dunno: Pretty rediculous to me.

Well either Magic, Jordan, or Charles Barkley(?)That still doesnt excuse him from getting an MVP, he was more then good enough and he had more assists. The past 2 years showed that is one of the biggest things. So you need a good team to win it...Anyways, no one talked about how you get more recognition for being the MVP than the best player.
