Click here for the whole columnJust so I get this out of the way before I start: I do not like Ben Wallace. I have not liked him since he started getting all the publicity for playing the right way even though he disappears on offense like Chris Webber does on defense. I do not like how he is an All-Star but Adonal Foyle is overpaid and Samuel Dalembert is hopeless. He is a glorified defensive specialist. It?s almost as funny as Tra Thomas?Pro Bowler?despite the fact that I am almost as effective as a run blocker as Thomas is. I did not like how he seemingly got away with his role in the Pistons-Pacers brawl. How his brother was not vilified for the role that he had in it and how Wallace?s demeanor in general translates to anything other than ?thug,? especially a marketable athlete. (By the way that cell phone commercial where they are waiting for him to come into the arena is UNBEARABLE.) I laughed when he was bricking free throws like a school girl and giggled when he picked up so many bad fouls in the Heat series that Flip Saunders was forced to play a one-armed Antonio McDyees for half the games. Wallace embodied everything I hated about the Pistons. Like his game, the team was ugly, boring, and defensive based. I prefer to watch the Mavericks and Kobe. Click here for the rest

This article is just lame and obviously biased.
Ben Wallace is a great defensive player. That's it.No he won't give you anything on offense, but when you change a game defensively like he does, ive some credit. Before Rasheed, Chauncey and Rip, Ben Wallace won DPY awards with a lacklester defensive team around him. With good defenders around him, he was still called their "heart and soul"The man took a contract with Chicago... For $12 million more! Anyone with a mind would do that.Don't hate on a player who has worked as hard as anyone to get where he is
You guys realize he has been getting gradually worse over the past few years. A 32 year old 6-9 center isn't all that much to drool over. He will get worse once again this year with the Bulls.
Ben wallace brings the bulls to eastern conference champion contenders. He brings the defense and toughness the bulls need.

Before we signed Ben Wallace we didn't have any current players who can be the face of the franchise. He is gonna be the face of the Bulls like he was for the Pistons.
