    Sports Betting Online Overview
The last time the Detroit Tigers played in the ALCS was 2006 when it beat the Oakland A’s to go on to the World Series. The Tigers eventually lost the World Series to the St.. Louis Cardinals, and now the Tigers are trying to punch its ticket back to the big dance and a possible rematch with the Cardinals. While the Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies hammer out their differences in game five of the NLDS, the Tigers prepare to take on the young Texas Rangers. The Tigers were one of the hottest teams coming into the playoffs with a pitching staff that was shutting down every batting order it faced. That good pitching continued into the playoffs, but the bumpy road experienced against the Yankees could be a foreshadowing of how things will go against the Rangers.

The cost per head baseball fans in Texas now believe conclusively that the Rangers’ World Series run last year was not a fluke and that the Rangers are a solid team. It would help to have a marquee pitcher like Cliff Lee to get the Rangers back into the World Series, but the Rangers probably do not need it. After getting blasted in game one of its ALDS series against the Tampa Bay Rays 9-0, the Rangers settled down and began systematically shutting down the Tampa Bay offense. The Tigers’ offense is suspect to begin with as Detroit has done almost all of its damage in the playoffs from the mound. This could be a very good matchup for the Texas Rangers.

You could run the scenario through any bookie software on the market and there would have been no way that Texas ace C.J. Wilson would give up eight runs on seven hits in five innings pitched in game one of the ALDS against the Rays. But that is what Wilson did, and now he gets a chance to atone for his performance in game one of the ALCS. A sportsbook review of Wilson’s 16-7 regular season performance shows that Wilson has great control and accuracy. His control was there for game one of the ALDS, but his accuracy was lacking as he only struck out one batter. Game one of the ALCS will be a completely different story.

    Detroit Tigers
Justin Verlander gets another chance to start a playoff series as he takes the mound for game one of the ALCS. In the Detroit ALDS series against the Yankees, Verlander was part of the game one that was rained out for 24 hours. He did not get a chance to pitch again until game three where he played well and won. But the MLB scores from game one of the ALDS showed that Verlander can be hit and that he can give up key runs. It is something the Rangers will look to exploit in the opening of the ALCS.

    The Bottom Line
The Texas Rangers are a young team looking to show the world that it deserved the success it had last year. After a slight stumble in game one of its ALDS series with Tampa Bay, the Rangers righted themselves and dominated the rest of the series. The Tigers had great pitching in its ALDS, but the offensive output struggled. Without that offense, Detroit will have a difficult time beating the Rangers.

    Pick: Texas Rangers
