Rushel Shell, No. 24 in the ESPNU 150 and the nation's No. 3 running back, opted to stay close to home and chose Pittsburgh over Alabama in an announcement at his high school Friday. Shell, from Aliquippa (Pa.) Hopewell, which is less than a 30-minute drive from Pitt, decided on the Panthers this summer, but he kept his intentions quiet for several months. The four-star prospect is following in the footsteps of Pro Football Hall of Famer and Pitt and Western Pennsylvania legend Tony Dorsett, whose name adorns the stadium of Shell's Hopewell team.
