    Dear Jerry Jones,

As a longtime Dallas Cowboy Fan, it pains me to write this. For 30 years, I’ve been a loyal and unwavering Cowboy Fan. There were great years (3 Super Bowls in 4 years), and there were bad years (1-15 1989, 2010). I’m sorry to say that I can no longer continue to spend my time & money supporting this team. Why? Not because we only have 1 Playoff Win since 1996. Not because we went 6-10 last season – a season in which many pundits (including yourself) predicted would include the Dallas Cowboys becoming the 1st team to ever play the Super Bowl in their own stadium. Not because we’re a disappointing 2-2 this season. No, the reason I am jumping ship is because the Dallas Cowboy “Culture” is now something I find embarrassing to be a part of. When you look at the landscape of the NFL and the teams that are successful, you find organizations that are top notch from top to bottom. New England, Pittsburg, Indianapolis . . . they all have “It”. Solid Front Office, Solid Coaching, Solid Personnel, Creativeness in regards to the Payroll/Salary Cap, Cohesiveness, Professionalism, and Execution. There is a Culture that you find inside winning organizations, sometimes referred to as “Good Chemistry”. We don’t have that, and we haven’t for a long, long time. The “Jimmy Johnson Teams” had that. The “Bill Parcel’s Teams” were pretty close. What I’m talking about isn’t some intangible or imaginary concept. This is something you can see on the field. Well run organizations don’t put a product on the field that beats themselves at such an alarming rate. Ridiculous penalties, inexcusable turnovers, predictable schemes and play calling . . . you name it, and we can point out loss after loss that tie together with mental mistakes. Let’s just look at a few of the exasperating losses since the beginning of last season:

Week 1, 2010: Redskins 13, Cowboys 7 (Tashard Choice fumble at our own 30
Yard Line with 30 Seconds left in the 1st Half returned for TD
when we should have knelt on the ball, & Alex Barron’s Holding
Penalty Nullifies Winning TD as time expired)

    Week 2, 2010: Bears 27, Cowboys 20 (Romo throws 2 Crucial Interceptions &
Roy Williams bonehead Fumble. Cowboys 23 1st Downs, Bears
14, Cowboys 71 Offensive Plays, Bears 49. Cowboys turnovers 3,
    Bears 0)

    Week 5, 2010: Titans 34, Cowboys 27 (Romo throws 3 Interceptions, Witten
scores a TD and hands the ball to Offensive Lineman Marc
Colombo to “Spike” the Ball – Colombo falls embarrassingly, and
gets a penalty for Excess Celebration that sets up Titans long
return for Game Winning Drive. 12 Cowboy Penalties, including a
couple of laughable Mike Jenkins PI Calls that led to Titan TDs.
One of the PI was on 4th and Long and we were about to get the
    ball back)

    Week 6, 2010: Vikings 24, Cowboys 21 (Romo with 2 more bad Interceptions. 11
Cowboy Penalties. Miles Austin Excessive Celebration jumping
over Roy Williams in End Zone another embarrassing moment. In
fact, that Moment is embarrassing if you were 4-1, but at 1-4?
Wow. Austin also Called for Offensive PI that nullifies a 68/would-
    be Game Winning TD)

I’m not going to go into the losses with Kitna. There were some bad ones (blowing double digit leads against the Giants and Saints, the Green Bay debacle . . . it was, after all, with our 39 year-old backup QB.

    Week 1, 2011: Jets 27, Cowboys 24 (14 Point 4th Quarter lead slips away –
largest in Cowboy History. Romo with a fumble on a drive that
should have Clinched the game. He didn’t even take a big hit –
just wasn’t holding The ball securely. Jets block a punt for a TD
with rusher coming in untouched Right up the middle. Romo with
another unexplainable TO – this time an interception that he threw
RIGHT TO Reves on a ball that never should have been thrown to
a hobbling Dez Bryant. With less than a minute to go in the
game. Reves returns ball to Cowboy 34 yard line, Jets kick a FG
and win. Cowboys 7 Penalties, Jets 0)

Week 4, 2011: Lions 34, Cowboys 30 (27-3 Lead in the 3rd Quarter before Romo
sparks Lion's rally with TWO Pick-Sixes on back-to-back drives!
Romo cap off blowing the largest lead in Cowboy history with
another Interception with 4:22 left and still leading 30-27. Lions
drive 40 yards and score game Winning TD. On 4th and 20 with
seconds left, Felix Jones runs out of bounds after picking up 7
yards. Huh? Cowboys had 7 more 1st Downs, 131 more Total
Yards, ran 15 more Offensive Plays, & had the ball for 13 more
    minutes than Detroit)

There is so much more you could add. This is just the last couple of seasons. The Romo botched snap against the Seahawks in the 2007 Playoffs. Romo’s Interception in the End Zone on the last play of the 2008 Playoffs vs. the Giants (not to mention the 11 Penalties in that game that allowed the Giants to keep it close). We could go on and on. Every team has down seasons, even rebuilding years. But quality organizations don’t put a product on the field that consistently beats themselves in embarrasing fashion. The lack of execution and discipline this team continues to show is historic. The thing is you COULD fix this. If you hired a quality GM, and a coach with a track record like (for example) Bill Cowher. When was the last time you saw a Bill Cowher team that didn’t execute? That wasn’t cohesive? That didn’t get players to play smart and play hard? But you would never do that because ultimately you want all of the control and all of the credit. They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. By that definition Jerry – you are insane! You will continue to be your own GM, and hire “Yes Men” Coaches like Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett, and as long as you do I can guarantee you that the Dallas Cowboys will NEVER win another Super Bowl. No matter how much talent you put on the field, it doesn’t matter unless the blueprint for success is in place. Right now, you don’t have that. Instead of watching and learning from organizations like New England and Pittsburg, you go Rogue. You do it “Jerry’s Way”, and you how what? That is your right - You own the team. But I won’t support you or the team anymore. I’m done. There are so many other teams right now that
Are doing it right from top to bottom, and that’s where I’m headed. Goodbye Cowboys and Goodbye Jerry.

I've been a Cowboy fan since 71 and have seen some bad teams during that time, but I have never been ashamed to be a Cowboys fan or go out wearing a Cowboys hat or something. Well this year is pretty close because we have to be a laughing stock after killing ourselves,,,,but hell no, I'm still a Cowboys fan and still proud to be one!!! This season isn't over though I don't know if it'll get any better with Romo running the show.

We have a very young line, which I actually thought did fairly well compared to previous games, and a lot of injuries. This is a good time for a bye week though it stinks going in with what happen in the last game. I am hoping we'll get better as the season goes along.

Before we played the Lions I thought if we got a split out of the next two games, Lions and Pats, I'd be happy. Well we can still get a split. I know it's going to be tough and no matter how far ahead I'll be worried. Matter of fact I think I'd prefer if we are down most of the game!!

    GO COWBOYS!!!

I really believe there is a bad culture in the organization right now. It just feels like there is a lack of class, professionalism . . . just a lot of nonsense. The Cowboys are like the Anti-Patriots to me. New England does it right. They might not be Super Bowl Contenders every year, but they always seem to play hard/smart. That's why when Tom Brady went down early in 2008, they still went 11-5 with a "who is this guy?" QB (then unheralded Matt Cassel) & a nothing special backfield.. The players buy into the system, and if they don't . . . (see Randy Moss). They are well coached and a model franchise. Then there is The Cowboys. I just can't identify with this team anymore. I do blame Jerry for the circus act that the entire organization has become. I'm just over it. Not mad, no bitter. Just done.
