6'3", 245# OLB/DE - 4 star ranked #21. Is praised for his speed, size and aggressiveness. Received and offer from a lot of Pac schools, Clemson, Oklahoma, LSU, etc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4PSuZh1ibk
the 3* DE who ended up going to Clemson is all who I can think of. Byers? if you go further back Chris McCain 4* LB the year before who went to Cal is another recent one I can remember. And Ethan Grant the RB who decomitted and went to TCU (although that was after Huff Decomitted and came here) I agree its probably less likely to happen now though as it is a better destination than in years past. But I could understand some Concern.
no Bryce Cottrell is a 3* DE from Texas. http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Bryce-Cottrell-115056
There's always that risk but a verbal is just that...a verbal. The player has expressed his word to play for Oregon. I'm not a math guy, but I would estimate this usually means the player ends at Oregon 95% of the time. If we're looking at it the glass half empty, players, after signing LOI are more likely to not qualify or leave Oregon for personal/health reasons than they are to back out of a verbal -- but, it's always a possibility.
