6 fouls, and he's playing against guys in the SL.But pretty good, a glimpse of what's to come.

It's the summer league...chill out. The level of competetion is extremely weak, filled with guys that are working their asses off just to be invited to Training Camp.

I think for Bargnani the summer league can be compared to high level college basketball, because all of the players here were college stars. Now, if he could average 20 a game against that competition, he would be putting up better stats then Aldridge, Thomas, and most of the other lottery picks in the draft put up in college and I don't think there would be any question about him as a #1 pick.

4 rebounds for a 7 footer in the summer league...nice.

Wow he scored 20 points against that absolutely fierce summer league competition. Impressive

Yeah dont get too excited, I think I could probably score against Andray Blatche and the rest of that Wizards summer league squad. I still think Bargnani is a bust though.

I also know a guy who can score well and shoot, against NBA competition, and isn't good at anything else but sometimes has his moments on defense....Tim Thomas. [IMG]

Didn't you also post a topic in the Mavs forum about how Ager had no handle? (Ager scored 23 or something in his first SL game.)

I was just pointing out that it's a flaw in his game that scouts were bringing up. :dunno:<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Bargnani didn?t waste any time showing us why he was drafted with the 1st overall pick. In the first three minutes of the game he hit one mid-range jumper, one NBA three and two free throws. Bargnani drew quite a few fouls in the first half with his excellent first step and ball-handling skills, so when his defender sagged off him a bit he showed absolutely no hesitation getting off a lightning quick jumper even when off-balance. On one occasion he wowed the crowd with a pretty crossover before pulling up and draining a mid-range jumper off the dribble. Bargnani struggled a bit defensively and on the glass, but all in all he left a very nice impression with what he showed in the first half. He finished with around 14-16 points. Quote: Bargnani is still passing the ball nicely and not forcing the issue. Quote: Bargnani came back in the 4th quarter and looked a little bit more lively. He got on the board early after a series of unselfish passes between the Raptor starters that saw him end up with the ball in a tough spot under the rim in traffic. Bargnani went up and finished without hesitation using a surprising underhanded flip that caught the defense entirely by surprise. A minute later he continued his good momentum by hitting the offensive glass and coming up with a nice putback dunk.</div>

Let's not get too ahead of ourselves here BCB. Sure, he is a talented 7 footer who can score. But if you really want to look into his stats - how about a 7 footer only grabbing 4 rebounds? See.. it doesn't really matter. It's summer league and this competition is like the D-League with the exception of a few players, plus only 1 game. Let's see how he does after a month or 2 into the regular season.I mean when Telfair or Gerald or Big Al (or someone) has a sick game in Summer League this week it's nothing to get all that excited about. I mean, sure I'll be excited but one guy having a good game doesn't mean they are the real deal on the NBA level. Like I said in my last post - see Kedrick Brown (tore it up in SL, out of NBA by age 25).

Like I said in my first post, it's only one game and I know it's only summer league but i'm impressed that this guy came in against elite American college players and played so well on offense. This guy won the Euro-championship and little has fazed him so far. The competition might not be the greatest in the summerleague but a lot of these guys are playing for their NBA lives right now and giving it everything.

I understand it's one game and summer league competition that Skita dominated a few years back. But I'm pretty sure if one of your draft picks put up a line like this, you would be excited about it. So I understand where BCB is coming from. But did people really think he was a bust? I find that funny when he hasn't even stepped on the NBA floor yet.

Oh, I don't care that you are high on him BCB, there are a lot of guys I am high on too. But I mean when Gerald Green or Telfair put up 20 in one of these games, I'm not going to get overly excited. Maybe that's because I've lived through Kedrick Brown totally flopping.I understand where BCB is comming from too, and I don't blame him. I'm very excited too, and it's great to get excited about this. All I want to say is, don't call him the "real deal" after 1 summer league game. Even Brandon Hunter put up 16/8 one year in summer league for christ sake lol. So just don't call him the real deal until he does it in a real game, and more than once.

It's a prediction just like people saying he's going to be great when all he can do right now is shoot. The amount of rebounds he average for his team in Italy was just sad for a 7-footer. Jason Kidd was a better rebounder.

If a 7 footer only gets 4 rebounds then his size must not be a factor. Because 7 footers should be getting at least 6 expecially against summer league compitition.
