    This deserves its own thread.

I think Schwartz completely overreacted and he looks like a little bitch when he goes after Harbaugh. He didn't shove him like Schwartz claims, and it comes off as though Schwartzy is just crying over his team losing their first game of the season. The guy should be punished by the league.

Win gracefully, lose gracefully. When Harbaugh came prancing to the hand shake he totally disrespected Schwartz. As a rookie coach he had to be put in his place. To his credit he apologized later.

    It's an non issue.

Harbaugh was ignorant, Schwartz was a putz.

That said, I think no league punishment was prudent, though.

My first impulse was that Harbaugh thought Schwartz was an assistant coach and maybe thats why the interaction was so short?
I still think Schwartz overreacted and ran after harbaugh like a little kid being picked on in a playground at an elementary school.

Harbaugh is a jerk. He definitely shoved Schwartz, you can see it on the replay.

I would give the edge to Harbaugh. I think he has a little more speed and a little more power. He would win by decision or a late round TKO.

So let me get this straight.... Harbaugh runs over, shakes his hand, slaps him on the back, and jogs off and he's the jerk? it wasn't a "shove". It was a slap on the back with his left hand. That's not disrespectful... maybe a little too exuberant, but not disrespectful. This, however, is disrespectful.

It's funny.... the whole handshake incident is all over NFL.com. They're making a huge deal out of it.

What's sad is that the media and NFL fans would be talking about the great win for the 49ers. Instead everyone is talking about how their coach acted like a jackass. I hope he apologized to his team.

He should have turned around and knocked Schwartz on his little pissy ass. I'm proud of Harbaugh and I think it was a great win. It's his attitude that has turned the franchise around, so he can do whatever the hell he wants.

Schwarz said there's a certain "decorum" that NFL coaches (should) abide by.

    Wha?!

    What's he talkin' 'bout, Willis?

Yet Harbaugh apologizes for his actions . . . oh if only you saw McMillan the way you look at Harbaugh.

Schwartz looks like the ass to me on this one. He should have known Harbaugh was not going to bring him cookies after his sideline prance. He should have just went to the lockerroom without the shake.

I do not have a problem with competitors showing alittle emotion though.

That's how I feel. Jim was out of line because he didn't do the handshake the accepted "NFL way", but come on..... Schwartz grossly overreacted. It's not like Harbaugh walked up to him, refused to shake his hand and said something nasty about his mother. The guy simply shook his hand and slapped him on the back. It wasn't a slight. He wasn't doing it to piss him off. He was excited about the win. He didn't "shove" him out of the way. Detroit fans are just pissed because their team lost.

Harbaugh has always been about himself, even when he glossed himself as "Captain Comeback" for the Colts during his mediocre career. Why the hell did Harbaugh try to take his shirt off prior to shaking Schwartz's hand?

The shirt thing was about that lineman that came running up to chest bump him... didn't have anything to do with Schwartz. If anything I'd say THAT was probably more inappropriate than the handshake and slap on the back.
