^his height is still a factor. He had two blocks, and i'm sure his height helped him get a better shot off over his opponents.

Scouts have learned from players like Tskitishvili...it's the reason Nemanja Aleksandrov has stayed in Europe.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (OSUBucksfan09 @ Jul 7 2006, 08:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>If a 7 footer only gets 4 rebounds then his size must not be a factor. The amount of rebounds he average for his team in Italy was just sad for a 7-footer. Jason Kidd was a better rebounder.</div> He has a great shot, he has good post moves, he's nifty and smart inside with the ball, he's an above average passer and is unselfish, he's a good shotblocker. He does more than shoot but thats all you hear because he's so good at it for his size.

BCB, I thought I heard that Bargnani got less than 1 block per game in Italy. That's still not that good for him. How many assists did he get there. Any in this game?

He was a young star on a championship team, kind of like a Devin Harris who can light it up every once and a while and some games he doesn't play a lot because he has more experienced players ahead of him. He has great shotblocking instincts and I think he can average a couple blocks a game but fouling will be a problem with him early. Bargnani is a good passer but he isn't a big playmaker, he'll probably average around 2apg, he averaged a little over 1apg this season. I wouldn't put much stock in his numbers in europe. A lot of people use it for/against him in arguments without realizing the situation he was in there.

So...he couldn't even get the minutes in the Italian league? I just don't see him doing anything in the NBA.

:rolleyes:In Europe, the teams like to play the veterans more, so the younger/newer players don't get as much time, no matter how talented they are. And if i remember right, this team beat Toronto in preseason last year.

Holy crap! Nice game. I didnt get to see it, because they showed it at 1:00 to 3:00. I will check out next game though. It's only summer league, but you always love to see signs, even the smallest from your teams' players.

BCB you misread what I'm saying. I'm not comparing Bargnani to Skita at all. I said it was the perfect person to bring up when a player does well in summer league as in don't read too much into how a player performs in those leagues. Nothing else.

Nikoloz Tskitishvili is a spaz...just never bring up his name in a Bargnani thread or I get enraged. :ranting:

Andrea wouldnt have been drafted #1 overall if he looked as bad as Nikoloz. Just get rid of those comparisons please..

I Like Bargnani the first time I heard the comparisons to my favorite player this time last year. though I like Darko Milicic also. But I dunno if he's a LeBron type player. to come in and change the whole team give hime 2-4 years. Nowitzki averaged under 9 points as a rookie and No one payed attention to him but in a few seasons the teams that didn't draft him probably felt like :brickwall:. Bargnani only got 4 rebounds yesturday but he had 2 blocks. Anybody heard anything about that guy from the Ukraine that plays for the Wizards? I like European players [IMG] and other foreigners AK-47, Brezec, Okur, Biedrins, Arroyo, and etc.

Bargnani was actually playing against Pecherov in his last game...Pecherov had 15pts/8rebs/1blk...both players fouled out.

I think that this is impressive for Bargnani. Sure it isnt agaisnt the best competition but he only played 29 minutes...To score 20 points in 29 minutes is pretty good IMO. Also, he shot 7 for 11 which is a very good sign. Just because he is playing agaisnt worse competition doesnt mean he plays in the pros, he is only going to get 5 points and 2 rebounds. I say we just stop hating/praising the guy untill we see how he plays in a regular NBA game.

You never know until you can see them play in the NBA. I got my prediction ready for him though. I'm not really compating those two though but that comment didn't make much sense.

I understand why your excited BCB but you don't have to call him the real deal. I mean John Lucas has been play incredible out there and possibly the MVP of SL so far but that doesn't mean he'll be the real deal in the NBA.

Al Jefferson had 7 fouls. :dunno:
