Interested in owning a professional sports team like the Blazers? "No, I don't think so. I'll say this. the Portland Trail Blazers have a terrific owner. Paul Allen is a really good owner. What if they came up for sale? "I don't think so. Not at my age. I think he does a great job and I'm hopeful he'll be there for a long time." http://www.csnnw.com/pages/landingd...ght-Bonus--Ownin=1&blockID=579734&feedID=8351
I was going to post "Phil Knight: Owning a football team is hard enough, not interested in also owning the Blazers" but it didn't fit.
SlyPokerDog then went on to say "I eat babies, slaughter the rain forest and fuck all your grandmothers!" Hey I'm just having fun with my post. The first quote was accurate.
I have to ask one question. Aside from pouring money into his semi-professional football team in Eugene, why would he want to to also lose money owning a professional basketball team? Phil Knight is a wildly successful businessman, not some fly-by-night hack, riding the coattails of being lucky enough to know Bill Gates on the ground floor of his "big idea."
Why not? They are fairly similar ways to lose money. If he likes wasting money on one sport, he might like wasting money on another sport. Not saying he should, but it doesn't seem unimaginable. (See, e.g. Paul Allen, Seahawks and Blazers). barfo
Glad to hear it. I don't have to abandon my team. No way in hell I'd ever give a dime to anti-American child-abuser Phil Knight.
Whoo hoo, let's beat up on someone that can't defend themselves. Isn't that one of the reasons he was banned in the first place?
