Better idea!! Pray to god (or the flying spaghetti monster if you prefer) that an amnesty clause gets put into the new CBA, or hope that Brandon can be a marginally useful role-player and this his knees can hold up for another 2 or 3 years. Because nobody ... and I do mean nobody is going to take on his bloated contract in what is probably going to end up being a hard-cap environment (or damn near close).
That's a pretty awful trade idea. It would make me sad. But it got me to thinking. What if the NBA could come back tomorrow but the Blazers had to do some horrible trade like this to make it happen? Like there was some part of the CBA that Paul Allen was all super psyched about but some other owner was dead set against and to get the other owner to agree to it Paul would do this horrible trade. Would you do it to get the NBA back?
Explain to me the part of this deal where it's a horrible trade for the Blazers? Two useful players at positions of dire need (shooting and a shot-blocking big) for the worst contract in professional sports (OK maybe tied with Gilbert Arenas and Rashard Lewis) and the lockout is over?
Trade idea? Haven't seen one of them in these parts for many a moon. Plumb forgot what they look like. barfo
