Let's face it:The Toronto Raptors are horrible and it doesn't look like they will coming out of that slump anytime soon.Yet, Chris Bosh signs his life away by signing a contract extension preventing him from becoming a free agent in 2007.This sounds alot like Kevin Garnett, who will sacrifice his career status to be part of the T-Wolves.Is Chris Bosh going to be the next KG?
You mean an extremely loyal person? That doesn't seem like a bad thing to me. And I think Toronto is headed in a better direction than the Timberwolves. However KG had a few years with some good talent around him, hopefully Chris Bosh is more of a D Wade level playoff difference maker.
To answer the topic question, no, Chris Bosh is the next Chris Bosh. On Raptors, their only going to go up unlike the Timberwolves, why? Because of their management, Raps got a good gm in place and he's already improving the team. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Yet, Chris Bosh signs his life away by signing a contract extension preventing him from becoming a free agent in 2007.This sounds alot like Kevin Garnett, who will sacrifice his career status to be part of the T-Wolves.</div> He did not sign his life away, he got a hefty contract to a team on the rise. You can't expect every player in the NBA as good as they are to be successful. That's why I don't get the sympathy towards Garnett, he's not winning but people act like he should given a championship because he's lost so much. Big deal, other players in the NBA are in the same position in losing, but only KG should be given a shot?
How is this even comparable? The Raptors have one of best minds in basketball with Bryan Colengelo and the team has a nice young core with T.J. Ford, Joey Graham and Andrea Bargnani. Kevin Garnett has one of the worst GM's in the NBA in Kevin McHale. I think a better comparison is Carmelo Anthony. Like in Minnesota Denver has one of the worst GM's in the NBA in Kiki Vandeweghe who doesn't seem to understand the fact that Carmelo Anthony needs scoring help and it looks like for the second off season he won't do it. I see Carmelo being the only star on a team with no help and a unreliable supporting cast for a long time. Unfortunatly.
Though Bosh has a J I think Dwight Howard will be better. and The raptors won't be to bad at least not last place. Pending if T.J.'s T.J.. Rasho plays pretty good. Bargnani is a Bargain and not a Bust. Bosh is a Beast. and mo puts up mo in the leadership department. sign another shooter like Jannero Pargo and they should be okay.

He's no teams savior.
If you mean will he be as good a player as KG? I think he can be.And if your asking if he won't win a title like KG? Then no I think he will win a title his gm is better then the T-Wolfs gm.

The Raptors arent going anywhere soon? They have a huge 7"0 talent in Bargnani who can shoot, and put it on the floor much like Dirk, a good defensive guard who can shoot and score, a floor leader, pass first, quick step pg capable of running a great offense, an athletic wingman who can score easy buckets and will play good D in the future in Joey Graham, and our franchise player, Chris Bosh. Chris is a PF with a sweet J, he is quick, strong, and ca get inside. His post moves are improving too. He is going to be one of the best players in the League for a long time. And they have lots of cap room, and one of the best GM's in the League. Of course they will be a great team in the future. If you dont think so, you are just ignorant Raptor haters.
wow, this is one point where i actually have to agree with CB4. damn. but yes, the raptors cant do anything but get better and they will. They picked up a point guard in the off season in TJ Ford who will be improving from last season. He had to nearly split time with Mo Williams so he really had to share the spotlight. Andrea Bargnani is going to be good within 2 seasons in the league and Chris Bosh is going to be an absolute monster within 2 years. Hes already very good but he is going to get even better. I see the Raps making the playoffs in about 3 seasons or so if they can keep ford, bargnani, bosh, and others.

Example: John Gabriel (Former Magic GM) signs T-Mac & Grant hill in 2000, drafted Mike Miller in 2001, and signed Juwan Howard and Hedo Tukoglu in 2003. Sounds like a decent team, but it never worked. Don't think Coangelo behind the wheel means great results.

If Grant Hill was healthy they would have had a great team for years to come. That doesnt have anything to do with the Raptors, because we probably wont have a Grant Hill who will injure himself pretty much, forever. That was just bad luck. It doesnt mean anything.
I don't know why people look at Garnett's career and frown upon it. The guy has committed his career to a state and franchise because he it loves it here and he is loyal. Isn't that what we want our athletes to do? A championship is a great accomplishment that is achieved as a team. If Garnett never wins a championship it won't damper or hurt his legacy. He is still one of the best forwards of all time and his loyalty just adds to the package. It really shows you a lot when someone is willing to stick with someone through the thick and thin. Garnett has stayed with Minnesota for 11 years and there have been a lot of bad times throughout those years. I just don't understand why that is looked upon as a bad thing. We should have more athletes like Garnett. We should be praising Garnett for staying in Minnesota.
I think people are frowining at the franchise because they havnt gotten anywhere with a HOF Power Forward, not Kevin Garnett. He's had a great career, yet no real success. That goes to show you that you can a franchise player, but if you dont have good management building around him, not much is going to happen. KG had one succesful year in his MVP season where he made the WCF, but other then that I dont think he's ever made it out of the first round.
No, but you shouldn't blame any of that on Kevin Garnett. If Chris Bosh is the next Kevin Garnett then that is great news. Garnett, like I said, is one of the best forwards in league history. Just because he can't win a championship doesn't mean he isn't a great player.
I dont think anyone is blaming that on KG. It isnt his fault. He has put 100% into making the franchise a good team. And I respect him for staying with the team and never requesting a trade, even though the front office guys are complete dumbasses. But hey I think they have done a good job this year. Foye is a great player, and I bet they are glad that they came away with him. I think he will have immediate success scoring the ball. He is already leading the summer league in ppg. Also, Mike James was a good signing. He will contribute probably 15-16 ppg. I dont see him scoring 20 ppg because he will not get the same freedom he got in Toronto. They still have some holes to patch up at SG/SF (depending which position Ricky Davis doesnt play), and of course Center. If they can get some of that filled up in the next 2 years then I see them making the playoffs. Probably not next year though..

So how do you blame AI for his team not doing good? :boxin:
