Bowie was no disappointment for me, other than his shortened career.

Jordan's ego would have destroyed our lineup and Drexler was a far better fit for us.

Sam was an elite passing center who could run the floor, defend, clear the boards, and was a joy to watch, second only to Bill and Sabas IMO.

I'd scratch him completely off that list and throw in Gary Trent or Tracy Murray.

Pippen would be #1 on my list for the discord and ego trips he brought to an otherwise solid contender.

The first error was always the worst for me. Wicks was always a disappointment, as an allstar he was a lousy team player.
I alway wanted Artis Gilmore, Cliford Ray would have been fine too. So having "none much better" following Wicks is a joke.

Of course LaRue Martin over Bob McAdoo was a real, LaRue who?

That list hurt to read. I don't agree with Oden on there because he is still with the Blazers and could still contribute, if Oden leaves next season then #2 on that list for me.

I still think we whiffed on the Jermaine O'Neal deal.

Agreed. Drafting him was a mistake.

For whatever reason I have all but vivid memories of Snapper warning about Harvey Grant. Saying he was a good player on a bad team, and that he would not be the same guy on a good team like Portland

    Agreed.

Also, I'm better off not winning the lottery. It would make life too complicated!

That list is retarded. Scottie Pippen? Ha!

I'm curious if the list is based on high expectations followed by disappointment, or if the disappointment can occur before the player has even donned a uniform? A lot of people were not happy with the selection of Martell Webster or Sebastian Telfair, so they couldn't have been disappointed simply because they didn't expect much from those players.

I don't know if there's 15 of them or not, but the most disappointing acquisitions to me as a fan are the pedophiliac-pandering strip club farm team known as the Jr. Blazer Dancers.

Well he was rookie of the year, so I think the pick was smart at the time. His biggest problem was his attitude. But at the time a PF with his size and quickness was rare.

For me the absolute worst acquisition was Shawn Kemp. I understand we didn't have room and money for Brian Grant (although the $86 million dollar deal Grant signed wasn't much bigger than Kemp's remaining $71 million). It's simply amazing to me that Cleveland was not only able to dump Kemp's bloated contract, (which I am sure they would have been happy to give up a good player and a first round draft pick just to get rid of) but they actually ended up getting a first round pick back from Miami. No GM who was even minimally competent would have made this trade; I can guarantee that Paxson would have still made this trade if Portland had insisted that the first round pick go to them. And Portland should have spent the money on a private detective to check out Kemp's lifestyle before doing the trade. This had to be the stupidest trade in NBA history.

+1 I am debating whether to take my daughter to games because I do not want her to have anything to do with them.

I love what little in-game activity is at the Timbers game and what the kids participate in. The pre-game is walking out with the players and halftime is sometimes soccer setup in front of one of the goals. Both I approve of.

I don't get the hatin on Pippen. What do you expect from a guy in his 30s?

He had bad knees, and still was able to win the PG job over mighty mouse and the team prospered.

LaRue Martin. What the hell were they thinking when they drafted him?
