Silver: We did ultimately take their suggestion that we park the issue of the split in revenues. They know where we stand.
Despite NBA, NBPA downplaying expectations, "significant progress" has been made toward agreement on system issues, sources tell Y! Sports.
Trying NOT to get my hopes up, but I think I will sleep a little better tonight then I did after last weeks press conference! Night Night!
Oh man, this would be incredible. Don't drop the ball now. Only thing is, our guys are fragile enough as is. Filling in 82 games in 5 months instead of 6 will put us in more risk for injury. I hope they all just say fuck it and stick to a 70 games season or something.
That's probably why PA blew up the talks a few days ago. He knows his team doesn't have a GM, and would be behind the gun if the season started ASAP
With six of eight on the road the last two weeks of November, I am hoping those get permanently cancelled soon. If they reschedule, hopefully the Indiana away game is later in the season. Would like to travel once this year to see the team.
Yeah, I don't want or need an 82-game season. If I were the owners I wouldn't want it either. Cramming in a bunch of back-to-backs isn't going to help average or total attendance, meaning the players would get their full salaries but the owners' gross revenue would be lower on a per-game basis.
I dunno. Pizza guy had told me Nov. 1st was when something would get done. I posted it about a month ago in here....I think
I do not think it is only about BRI though. Even if they accept a 50/50 split, there are other issues that they are still far apart on. Plus, also calculate each point of BRI X each year of the new agreement.
Aldridge Back on the clock at the labor talks...looks like everyone has arrived and things will begin (or just began) shortly.
