I just realized this. Did you know there was a period where the Lakers went a full half season only losing twice? They finished off the 2000-2001 regular season by winning their last 8 games, they then went 15-1 to win the championship. so they finished the season 23-1. The next year, they kicked off the year going 16-1. So, over a 41 game period, they went 39-2 from March 2001-December 2001.
that is insane i think of out of the three championships the one for the back to back was the best (2001)

Then they went into San Antonio and Kobe and Fish just killed. They won both games on the road, then came back home and beat them by 29 in Game 3, than 39 in Game 4. I loved that series.

They got too long of a rest, they had 11 days in between Game 4 of the WCF and Game 1 of the NBA finals. They came in flat.
