Nick Diaz called out Georges St-Pierre after his win over BJ Penn at UFC 137, calling the incumbent welterweight world champion scared. According to Dana White, this incensed St-Pierre, who demanded a match with Diaz (as originally scheduled before some bad luck derailed the card) and has been obliged. St-Pierre was originally scheduled to face Carlos Condit in January/February but will now face Diaz instead. Condit should feel hard done by but was a replacement fighter anyway--and could get his chance eventually with a win over a top contender such as Jon Fitch or Josh Koscheck.

Re: Georges St-Pierre demans fight with Nick Diaz, UFC books it instead of Condit

GSP said: "he's the most disrespectful human being I've ever met and I'm going to put the worst beating on him."

Fight will be on Superbowl Saturday, Condit will also be fighting on the card against an opponent TBD.

Nick Diaz got under GSP's skin. Nice.

I think GSP lays on him for 5 rounds.

Tough fight for GSP. Doubt he wants to box with Diaz and his guard is a dangerous place, too. It was compelling before and is still so.

I think he'll wrestle fuck him to death for 5 rounds. I see that being the only way he wins this. I think Diaz outclasses him on the feet and would pepper his way to a decision or a late round KO. I think GSP will be able to take Nick down pretty much at will so I think the only thing GSP needs to worry about is getting caught in a guillotine or a triangle.

I hope Diaz pulls it off, though.

Diaz is going to whoop GSPs ass.

So I take it no Chael\Anderson fight on Superbowl weekend like Dana said?

It was expected for UFC Rio 2, dunno if that is still the case with Silva & Belfort being targeted for the coaches of Ultimate Fighter Brazil.

Re: Update: Condit's manager says they weren't given a choice in relinquishing title

Condit's manager (Kawa--same guy Jones has, same guy Mitrione fired on air) says they weren't given an option--the title shot was taken away, and they are pretty down about it.

To be fair, the shot was Diaz's in the first place.
