Such bullshit. Not only did we not move up from Clemson losing, but Arkansas and Oklahoma passed us. This just cements to me that we will not be in the NC this year. Oklahoma will beat Oklahoma state, or they won't, either way we will not be climbing back into the top 2.

How the hell did Oklahoma retain such a high spot after losing to an unranked opponent anyway? They should have fell to where Wisconsin was.

I have no idea. They lose to an unranked opponent and then they beat KState. Apparently that was enough. We might move ahead of them with a win over Stanford but they would still beat us out if they knock off Oklahoma State.

It's not even worth it to play a tough OOC schedule. Just line up some marshmallows like the SEC does and coast to the NC.

Surprised...but, potential wins over BCS #4 and AP #21 should help.

I never get too worked up over mid season rankings. OK has some tough games, Arkansas will lose and either LSU or Bama will have a loss too. OK St still has three tough games (including Oklahoma). That will help shake things out.

All this BCS BS aside, we hold our own destiny for RB and as a one loss team, have the potential to slip into the NC game.

You're right, but it's just annoying that Arkansas and Oklahoma were able to pass us when they JUST lost a few weeks ago and our only loss was to LSU at the very beginning of the season. Pisses me off.

I agree! Totally. We did move up in the human polls though. This could get really interesting!

As stated, if we beat UW, Stanford, USC and then win the PAC-12 title game, we'll be in the top 4 for sure.

Oh I'm sure we'll be in the top 4 if we beat Stanford... but it's still annoying when a team like Oklahoma loses to an unranked team and then passes us up just a few weeks later.

understand what goes into the BCS computations and it won't be annoying, it will be expected.

The Sooners have had a better SoS thus far and look to be pretty equal in whats remaining. The championship game remains a longshot, but if the Ducks win out at the least it will be :smiley-thankyou:

I'm just hoping that we can win the conference and go to the Rose Bowl. The Stanford game will be like a bowl game....near the level of a national title game.

I will never understand how someone can be ahead of you when you both have only one loss and your one loss came at the hands of the #1 team in the country. :dunno:

Certainly you've noticed how voters tend to punish a team for a more recent loss right? Well OU is further removed from their blemish so that is fading. Someone has to be the top rated 1 loss team. They've more quality wins then UO, & of course traditional voter bias probably factors in some too. In the coming weeks Oregon hits the meat of their schedule and things might flip flop, but my guess is that the Sooners will emerge ahead of the Ducks if they win out. A return appearance to the national championship game will take an unexpected loss or two to the teams ahead of them in the rankings.

Obviously this isn't a perfect system, but I'd rather bask in another successful Duck season then focus on whats outside of their control.

Arkansas will lose they haven't played LSU or Bama so no worries there.. LSU or Bama loses next weekend... The Sooners will take out OSU end of the year, and we'll take out Stanford...

    That said....

The Sooners will play in the national championship against Bama I think because OSU is ranked higher than Stanford and the Sooners have taken out a #5 FSU, Texas, #7Kansas St. and #3 OSU.. that matters to the BCS..

I'd like the Ducks to go to a bowl where they'll win by 35 and it will cement all our recruits IE. " ELIS McCarthy and Shaq" and let us get ready for an amazing season next year.

We don't want Bama this year! Sorry! We're not big enough and I personally don't want my Ducks going 0-3 to SEC schools for the nation to see and more importantly a couple of our 5* recruits that will have not doubt been to some SEC schools prior on visits. Let's kill Boise St, or have an epic game against OK State!

Some times looking to the future for a dynasty is more important than just showing up. I think we all want to win the national championship and we are ALMOST there but not this year!

even if the Ducks thump Washington, I think the loser of the Bama - LSU game probably remains ranked ahead of UO in the BCS. Thats the way that cookie has always crumbled

I was thinking about how the Ducks schedule is something else....two away games against top 5 teams. Has Stanford even played a ranked team yet?

Yeah, Washington was ranked when they played them. I believe ASU was ranked too.

I don't suspect we'll gain much ground this week, and might even lose ground depending on how far back they drop Bama.
