We've seen lots from Nolan Smith this Summer, and in fact we've heard SOMETHING about just about every Blazer (Chris Johnson putting on 15lbs of muscle! Jon Diebler playing in Greece! Nedzad Sinanovic finally becoming relevant!) But nothing from our two prize rookies from last year. Or am I missing something? Why haven't their agents got them jobs in Belarus or something?

According to Armon's twitter account he's been working out tons.

    Yes, there's news. Big news.

    They both still suck.

Anything with the word "still" in it (as in "no change") is, by definition, not news.

I don't think being in shape was his problem. But go with what you know, I guess.

    The news:

Nate has added a cadaver dog to his staff. Someday, he might want to find those 2 down at the end of the bench.

A team has to want you before you can sign. The Blazers set up Diebler with a team because even before the lockout, they planned to farm him out this season. Otherwise Diebler wouldn't have a team either.

If Chris Johnson has added fifteen pounds of muscle, I shudder to think what he looked like in person last year. At LA's charity game tonight I thought a stiff breeze might knock the poor lad over. As for Armon, he's a funny guy; he spent a lot of time interacting with fans and yucking it up ... unfortunately, on the court it looked like he was mostly sucking it up.

Babbitt has had 6 months to add some muscle. Lets hope he did. He doesn't have to be huge, just stronger

I still see him more of a spread the flood 4 than a SF. He is an intelligent player with good passing and shooting skills. He can also dribble better than most 4's. He just needs more confidence and more strength.

Yes I know his shooting percentage sucked last year, but I still believe he can be an effective role player on this team. But due to his lack of lateral quickness it needs to be at the 4. He better of had hit the weights. No excuse if he didn't.

You just perfectly described Luke Jackson. That's who this scrub reminds me of

Man I loved Jackson's game in college! I've said it 437 times and I'll say it again...... 6'8" Whiteboys have NO shot in this league anymore!

Exactly. Jackson was a fine college player, but his ceiling wasn't high enough to make it in the league.

True they are both white and left handed......

But Jackson was listed at 6'7 (But shorter) and Babbitt is listed at 6'9" (and I assume shorter)

    http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/4250/luke-babbitt

But I really don't think Jackson was close to being long enough to play any 4. And Babbitt at 6'9"/225 only needs about 5-7 lbs of muscle to do it off the bench.
