Since taking over for Brett Favre as the number one quarterback in Green Bay almost four years ago, Aaron Rodgers has grown from a man with lofty expectations, to a man that keeps setting the bar higher. Last season, sports betting enthusiasts were allowed to witness the evolution of “the man to take over for Brett” as Rodgers guided the Packers to their first Super Bowl victory in nearly 18 years. As an encore this season, Aaron Rodgers has continued to make his case as an elite level quarterback. Today we will be looking at why Aaron Rodgers is a price per head elite level quarterback.

For the decade of the 2000s, three spots have been sealed on the Mount Rushmore of elite level quarterbacks, Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts, Tom Brady of the New England Patriots and Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints. Entering the 2011 bookie software season, the fourth and final spot on this decade’s Mount Rushmore was open for debate. However, through nine weeks of action, Aaron Rodgers has become an NFL pick to be the fourth and final member of the elite club.

After yesterday afternoon’s impressive victory over the San Diego Chargers, Rodgers became the first quarterback ever, to lead his team to an eight and zero record through the first nine weeks of the season after winning the Super Bowl. He also became the first quarterback to accumulate over 2600 passing yards and 24 touchdowns before the 10th week of the regular NFL season. Meaning to say, save for winning consecutive Super Bowl titles, Rodgers is developing his own class, higher then elite level status.

What’s more? In most seasons, the MVP race is usually pretty close between two or three different players. Yet, this season, Rodgers, similar to 2011 Heisman winner Cam Newton, is showing that he is far and away the best player on the planet right now. For those new to football, Newton, the former Auburn Tiger, won the Heisman Trophy (College Football MVP) by a landslide over the next possible candidate in January.

With Aaron Rodgers increasingly getting better with each game, it will seem only as a formality, that he be given the prestigious NFL MVP award. Furthermore, Rodgers critics could make the argument that he is on an amazing team. Nevertheless, as Aaron proved yesterday in the Packers 45 – 38 victory over the San Diego Chargers, his guidance over the offense is what makes the drink stir in Green Bay. The Packers defense has been average at the best of times this season, so you can make the argument, that without Rodgers, the Packers are not an undefeated team this season.
