I know it's probably too early to speculate, but i just don't see it happening.

If Ducks win the PAC-12, yet don't make the big daddy game, are they essentially resigned to play in the Rose Bowl against the Big-10 champ?

yes sir. If the Ducks win the conference and do not go to the title game, they play in the rose bowl.

...against Penn State or Michigan State, most likely.

    Hmmm......................

I'm not so sure it's out of the realm of possibility. A stretch? Absolutely.

One SEC school will get in. Either LSU, Alabama or Arkansas

If Oregon wins out that would eliminate Stanford
Boise Community College would be eliminated also because of the Pac's championship game
If Oklahoma can beat Oklahoma State, it would really be between Oregon and Oklahoma. Again, Oregon would have the championship game to help propel them. I know a win over ASU or UCLA isn't anything to write home about, but there is still a chance

LSU winning out is the key.....Not to mention Oregon beating Stanford and USCheats

Resigned to the Rose Bowl sounds so funny...

The interesting thing is win or lose vs Stanford, we have a good shot at Pasadena (Stanford in NC game).

So, everything else being equal, hope the Sooners lose to Iowa State, then beat OSU the following week. :)

It's not impossible. The Ducks, though, just need to take care of business and see where things end up.

It's not impossible, but I'm having a hard time believing we'll pass Oklahoma or Alabama.

Oklahoma might be good for a loss to Oklahoma State now. They might not be able to keep up now that Broyles is out for the year.

I'm not sure any of the 3 remaining schools they play do. Iowa State, Texas Tech, and OU. Honestly Oklahoma State could end up in the Title game like us last year. High Flying offense who went through a conference with no championship game.

I guess I only was addressing Oklahoma passing us :P

Heck I could even see OU losing to Baylor this weekend. Baylor can put up some points!

Not impossible, but not likely, either, if the Ducks win out.

Which is OK by me. The B1G is terrible this year, the Ducks could potentially get the BCS losing streak of a whopping 2 games off of their backs, and next year is set up to be special, both by returning players (Barner will run for 1500+ next year, IMO, and the young receivers will know the offense with a senior DT at QB, plus the defense is very young), and by a schedule that has no challenges OOC, and gives us Stanford and UW at home.

Here is our 2012 OOC schedule at this point...

    •09/01 - Arkansas State
    •09/08 - Fresno State
    •09/15 - Tennessee Tech

all at Autzen. Ridiculous, but somebody canceled, and that's it for right now. I'd love to see TN Tech or Arky State replaced with a home/home with a decent BCS program, though.

Yeah not to get too ahead for next year. But Next year can be scary! Barner, DeAnthony with a year in the system. Huff will be an upper-classmen, Blackmon, Sumler, Kelley, will bolster the Receiving Corps. The Line wont seem to need as much time to Gel. Losing Kaddu will hurt, but we got a pretty good replacement in Lokembo, and Wallace hopefully will be more comfortable. Our Young DB's will have that year under their belt.

Senior leadership with Barner, Thomas, Clay, Dion Jordan, Boyett etc.

We will be losing some key players, Kaddu, Asper, Gildon, Paulson, Pleasant, Tuinei, etc. But We have some good ones coming up behind them. Dargan, Lokembo, Andre Y, Jamal Prater, Tyler Johnstone, Lyerla, and so on.

I think if it came down to a one loss Oklahoma team and a one loss Oregon team, Oklahoma by virtue of their cry baby university president and their "tradition" wins out. Also, people won't want to watch a LSU/UO rematch. But I'm fine with a Paterno-less PSU and UO in the Rose Bowl.

yup. They'll probably lose LaMichael to the draft, but they're graduating relatively few Seniors and all that new talent/speed of the last couple of classes will be in the mix. Hopefully they'll be able to avoid injury like they have the last couple of seasons because on paper they look like they'll be the favorite in the West
