true, but wouldnt a school on an OV do that anyway if he was a public commit? Trying to sway his decision?
A silent commit really means nothing. It just means they've indicated their leader as Kelly wouldn't hold a spot for a silent and like a verbal commitment nothing is binding.
per J-Hop DJ Foster delayed his announcement a 2nd time. http://oregon.247sports.com/Board/45/Foster-announcement-delayed-again-2nd-time-5433250/1
Obviously his announcement of committing to PSU needs a couple of days to let things blow over... Ed O.
so the reason given for not announcing today as planned is that their playoff game got scheduled for today. I've been reading promising and not so promising rumors and also that he'll announce next week... I guess we'll see soon enough STOMP
I am starting to cope with it this way. If a player chooses another school then screw him. If you don't want to play for a winner then we are better off without them
I wonder how many Penn St. verbals had UO interest... one of my early favs in this cycle was DT Tommy Schutt. Another *4 Lineman who had early UO interest just became PSU's 1st decommit... STOMP
Wondering if you recruiting gurus can put some of these player rankings in perspective and please tell me how our current players were ranked when they came out of HS. Not just the stars.
ranked? What exactly do you mean? Like how rivals has some of these guys ranked in the top 250 players? If so, only a couple of guys who are contributing much to this year's team were ranked coming out of HS. I might be overlooking someone, but for that criteria only Ricky Heimuli (#88 in 2010) & DAT (#5 in 2011) count. There are multiple young players about to ascend to playing time who were rated and their next batch of recruits features some highly rated kids as well. If you do a google entry with a players name followed by either rivals or scout you can see their bio coming out of HS usually with a player's rating at their position included. For instance heres LaMike's rivals & scout pages coming out of HS where they have him rated as the 12th & 40th best RB respectively. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-LaMichael-James-58306 http://oregon.scout.com/a.z?s=128&p=8&c=1&nid=2991583 hope something I relayed was helpful STOMP
It's too bad they burned Lyerla's RS year because he hasn't gotten much play in the last three games or so.
right, but I just listed those who are "contributing much". Another ranked out of HS kid with a small role is Hamani Stevens. Oregon is just starting to see a wave of higher ranked kids work their way up their depth charts. STOMP
Anybody know the recruiting lineup for the USC game? That could be big if we smear the Trojans at Autzen. Hope Armstead's going to be there.
these are the ones who are at least strongly rumored to be coming on officials for the USC game... probably have a better idea later in the week. Probably a lock that some of our regular local prospects like Oshay and TT show too 4* QB Jake Rodrigues, CA (Committed to Oregon) 3* QB Jeff Lockie, CA (Committed to Oregon) 4* WR Dwayne Stanford, OH 3* WR Randy Uzoma, CA 4* DE Arik Armstead, CA 4* DE DeForest Buckner, HI 4* DL Faith Ekakitie, IL 4* CB Kevon Seymour, CA STOMP
couple tweets from Tyner... "Big day coming up this week! Putting my final thoughts together with my FAM" in response to a question of whether he's going to the USC game... "ya I'll be there for sure!" I like him giving the Stanford game comments like us in a game thread too... http://twitter.com/#!/thomas_tyner STOMP
