http://www.blazersedge.com/2011/11/...azers-brandon-roy-new-charity-game-in-seattle Where do you want to play next year? Jamal Crawford: "I have some places in mind, but I'm not exactly sure on one place yet. I just have to go through the talks and hopefully we have a season and just go from there." Could you end up back in Atlanta with the Hawks? Jamal Crawford: "I think there's a chance I could end up back there. But I have interest in whoever has interest in me." Are you interested in the Portland Trail Blazers? Jamal Crawford: "The interest is real. Brandon Roy is like a little brother to me but he's also one of my best friends. I've watched Portland play more than any other team in the league. We've always talked about playing together, so we'll just have to wait and see how things shake out." How does Brandon Roy look? Jamal Crawford: "We played two days ago, and I'm honestly not sure that he missed more than one shot, and we played for a couple of hours. We all have teams, and B-Roy's team won a lot of games." Will there be another charity game in the Pacific Northwest soon? Jamal Crawford: "We will have a charity game here, I think in December right before Christmas. People around the Northwest are going to be happy about some of the players who are coming in. Kevin Durant, John Wall, Carmelo Anthony, Russell Westbrook, Brandon Jennings, LeMarcus Aldridge...you guys stay tuned. You can follow me on Twitter and through The Seattle Times for sure. It's going to be a heck of a game with a lot of NBA stars, and I think Seattle deserves that."
I think we need to give roy a shot to see what he still has. maybe if nolan smith isnt totally ready crawford would be a nice addition. although we need to sign a big man free agent. who knows maybe having crawford and roy together would be a nice weapon to have since they love playing with eachother
That'll be one expensive spot-up shooter, but damn it would be nice if B-Roy would commit to becoming one who's not reliant on controlling the rock.
I wonder if it's occurred to these two buddies that the Blazers may not have the MLE available to them to sign Crawford unless they waive Roy.
Not sure, but if he remains on the team the best chance for that is if he starts. Even though I felt he needed to come off the bench last year when he came back after being out so long, this year (if there is a year) if he does take on the role of a spot up shooter he needs to be in the game with the starting unit so there is less of a temptation/need to control the ball.
Can we sign him as a Player/GM and not have him count against our roster and salary cap? He likes Roy a lot, PA would love him as GM.
