Fight of the Year candidate, just the back and forth between them was amazing. And holy fuck Cain got finished quick. He got caught badly.

Cain actually landed what looked like some accurate shots. Dos Santos has stone in his chin as well as his fists.

Henderson & Guida did earn FOTN, $65,000 each, along with Dos Santos (KOTN) and Lamas (SOTN).

JDS fought with a knee injury. Maybe finishing the fight early was his best chance.

Re: UFC on FOX: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos (Nov. 12th)

Even if he was healthy the fight probably favors Cain the longer it goes on.

What a quick fight though. Hell of a shot by JDS. Cain's gameplan wasn't bad targeting the leg of JDS. Maybe engaged too much in the stand up when he should have been forcing the issue by going for takedowns. Obviously he was probably working towards getting himself an opening but got finished before it could happen. JDS has pretty good TDD and its dangerous to shoot on him. Cain had the one attempt but IIRC he didn't really shoot in just grabbed a leg but JDS got away.

I think Cain will be back in a title fight before long though.

Here's to hoping for an Overeem-JDS title fight!

Bad night for Mexican fight fans lol.

Just read that JDS tore his meniscus 11 days before the fight and couldn't walk after the fight. Impressive. Maybe out of action for a while though.

The UFC are claiming 60-million Brazilians tuned-in for the fight.

    4.6-million Americans watched.

For American viewers: what did you see last night?

Rogers (in Canada) showed the Guida/Henderson fight, then the main event, then Johnson/Harvison.

58 minutes and 56 seconds of commercials and infomercials - interupted by a very brief fight between 2 ruffians.

In all seriousness...Fox is making Spike look good.

Sounds about right. Even with ring entrances and replays the actual show lasted 5-7 minutes.

    What a let down.

Nice RH by Dos Santos. Guy is for real. I think Cain will get a rematch before long, I don't see many people being able to beat Cain and stopping him from getting a title shot again.

I think if it would have been a full fight card, then the numbers would definitely been better.

Dana still defending the decision not to put Guida-Bendo on the broadcast but you can't help but think that would have been a huge game changer as far as convincing new viewers to come back. A comprehensive 3 round, frantic brawl alongside a dramatic KO for the HW belt would have been a great way to let new fans know what the sport is all about. Dana keeps saying these new fans need to be educated. Which they do. But I think a lot of them were confused and turned off by the fact that there was all of one fight on the broadcast and it lasted a minute.

Dana is saving face and keeping in Fox's good graces but I'm sure he wishes that the Guida-Bendo fight made it to the broadcast.

Semerzier is appealing his loss on this card. He was knocked out by an accidental headbutt not noticed by the referee.

Like I said after the fight, that was the best minute of MMA I have ever seen. That Bendo/Guida fight should of been on fox. I was pumped after watching that, then I felt bored. PPVs are usually never like that.
