I wouldn't be so quick to think that Marshall is likely to RS. Barner will be the starter, but I think that DAT will play multiple positions next year, and Marshall, in style, is a lot like a young LMJ. Chip has proven that if you earn it in practice, he's going to play you if you're going to help WTD. I'm stoked about this commitment. Big pick-up, and seemingly a perfect fit for Chip's offense.
oh yeah I'm sure if he earns it he will play. I'd also be fine with him getting a year under his belt in the system though and giving Carson and co more of a role in the Offense. And then have upper classmen of DAT, Carson carrying the load with Marshall still having all that eligibility left.
I hope not. Marshall I dont see anywhere other than RB for this team. Foster can line up in so many different places like DAT, and even Barner, and Huff for us last year. I hope I'm not reading too much into Foster's moving back his decision a few times, but I'm really hoping its cause he wants to make a good decision for him (and us) and the possible loss of Erickson at ASU could have him wavering.
yeah thats true too. Foster is a talent that you offer if you can though. Especially with players in his mold, like Barner and Huff being upper classmen next year.
Everyone on DT is saying this is not hurting our recruitment of Foster at all. People have been saying that Oregon is recruiting Foster in the same mold as DAT. A hybrid player that can play receiver and running back. Just get him the ball in space and see what happens.
There are two things James could get from coming back. 1. The NCAA all-time rushing record. I know records and honors don't mean anything to James so that's probably not that enticing, but it would be cool if James was on top of that leaderboard. 2. A national championship shot. There has been no indication that James says he will leave, but with him bulking up, seemingly for the NFL, and the fact he got injured this year I doubt he stays. I can't imagine how unstoppable he would be as a senior though.
Marshall's like the same exact size as Jeremiah Johnson was. Hopefully we can get Tyner. A little sugar and spice.
Herbstreit with the plug on coach Campbell and how great he is during the Stanford game had to of had a great impact with recruiting.
Huh? JJ was 5'9, 215ish. Marshall is listed at 5'10", 195, but watching him on film, he looks more like 5'11", 190.
Johnson was 5'10" 200lbs as a senior. http://www.goducks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=500&ATCLID=175561
We just keep restocking huh? Wonder if our 38 degrees and raining weather during the SC game would detour any players from coming up here?
You can tell that a guy is one inch taller and five pounds heavier based on YouTube clips? Man. I can't do that. Ed O.
There's a rumor going around that Foster is going to announce tomorrow. It's all just speculation though. Here's the link from an Arizona message board. http://arizona.247sports.com/Board/...-to-make-Decision-tomorrow-5581158/1#a5584527 There's no source and the arizona newspaper website hasn't said anything so I don't know if this true. Some people speculate that Foster has gotten worried about if Oregon has an open spot since Marshall committed so would want to commit as soon as possible. Who knows?
Also Dwayne Stanford is serious about Oregon. "I am down to Cincinnati, Ohio State and Oregon" said the #28 player in Ohio per 247sports.com. "I am very serious about them" Stanford said regarding the Ducks. "I like the staff and the program in general. it will be good to get out there and see what it's really like. I was out there this summer for 'The Opening' at Nike and it was amazing."
A 6'5" speedster as a wideout? I'd be pleased as punch! Hopefully he has better hands than Jaison Williams.
