Whiner. I'm sure there are other people who would be happy to take his job, miserable though it is.

If you don't like working at Target, don't work at Target.

I purposefully avoid shopping at places on days I don't think people should have to work. 4th of July, Christmas Eve, Black Friday, New Year's Eve, etc.

It's not a major inconvenience, really, to plan a little ahead and make sure you have all your Thanksgiving shopping done on the Tuesday before. If more Americans did this, stores would adjust their labor practices accordingly.

Is he the guy they need to dangle from the ceiling to open the doors without getting trampled by hoof-footed idiots?

My sister-in-law decided that Black Friday will be the perfect day to drag her family, my family, and my parents to the Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood, WA, for family pictures.

    Shoot me now...

There is no product worth buying at any discount being offered that would compel me to go to a mall on Black Friday.

You might point out to your sister-in-law that the whole point of a family portrait is to document the rosy, warm feelings you all have for each other. Nothing will kill those feelings like being part of a herd of thousands of consumption-crazed mall zombies. The agony and despair will naturally register on some of your faces in those photographs, thus making the photographs an incredibly bad bargain, no matter what the price is.

I spent some time thinking about this... and I agree. I cannot think of anything remotely possible that I could buy so heavily discounted that I would go out to a mall on BF.

Hmm think I'll do try that this year as well. I now got Amazon prime free 2day shipping , so as long as I give myself a few days leadtime I should have everyone covered.

Can't stand Malls or crowds unless theres a damn good reason to be in one. Trying to get a 3rd microwave in the house because its 40% off isn't worth it.

Amazon Prime is an excellent service. For those that might not normally use it, you could always get the free 30-day trial near Christmas, then cancel once you've finished your shopping.

Over the years, I've returned a bunch of stuff to Amazon. Super simple process...and no charge to me.

i agree on the no going out on black friday, that is just bat-shit craziness! but i kind of enjoy one day of going to the local stores for christmas shopping. it's great people watching and really not that bad if you get it all done in one and considering i'm not coming back until the 22nd, it's going to have to be in one day.

When I was much younger, I used to love going to Lloyd Center and gaze at the skaters for long periods of time.

Now that I'm relatively an old fart, I'd probably be arrested!

It's not even discounted. It's just that we'll all be together for Thanksgiving in Seattle.

The Friday after Thanksgiving is made for eating Hot Turkey sandwiches for lunch and dinner and playing board games or Rock Band with the family with some football games on in the background.

Who the fuck says this is the day to go get family portraits??? I like my sis-in-law, too. They have a one-year old, though, along with a 5 year-old. That's probably why she wants the photos with all of us.
