so oregon will be #3 if they win, and now ok beating okstate might not push them ahead of us, but it will still be lsu/bama unless one of them ALSO loses
Not necessarily. What's even keeping Alabama ahead of us is their SOS. With Alabama's next two games coming against unranked opponents and the fact they're not going to be playing in their conference championship, it should hurt their SOS. While a USC win and a Pac-12 championship win might be all that's needed to push us ahead of them.
I believe USC vs Oregon is televised nationally, Civil War regional and the Pac12 Champ game should be national. It's a lot of exposure for Oregon. Impress the voters, legit shot at NC game. All about style points now, boys. I'm pumped for either game!
A key question will be where Oregon and Alabama finish in the polls... not just the BCS. Alabama is ranked a spot ahead of the Ducks in both the AP and Coaches polls... Doesn't it seem like some voters will put Oregon ahead of Alabama to avoid an all-SEC BCS championship game? Especially now that OSU isn't around, I'd think that the non-southeastern voters might change things based on that consideration. Ed O.
I would think so too. Oregon's about to get a lot of exposure (hopefully +) with the three remaining games -- and Bama plays Georgia Southern (zzzzz!) and a soon to be 7-4 Auburn team. Should a team who can't even win their conference be headed to the NC game? This one's WIDE open!! WAR EAGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FWIW - this loss hurts Oklahoma's SOS too. Oklahoma was hoping a late season major victory over undefeated #2 would push them up. Nope.
I'd use 'probably' very loosely. The more dominant our remaining wins are, the stronger the case. It's all about style now, kids.
man lsu has just plain beasted this year, #3 oregon, #16 WV, #2 alabama #5 arkansas, #12ish georgia and the #2 in the title game if they make it
I think since we're all warm and fuzzy, LSU shouldn't go to the NC game. They have felt good about themselves all year. It's someone elses turn.
