They say Cutler broke the thumb on his throwing hand and will miss the rest of the regular season. Bears don't confirm the injury yet.
What a kick to the balls. I finally bandwagon jump on a Bears team and then they lose their quarterback for the rest of the season . . .
The spin is he'll be back before the end of the season if only barely. Until then they're looking to bring a QB corpse out of cold storage and let the Caleb Haney Era begin. As Denny would say: Big Foam Flag. But Caleb is an NBA QB for a reason and even with his brief number of reps he's shown flashes of good things. Hopefully, given the chance he can keep the Bears competitive, although I see those wild card hopes slowly swirling around the drain...
I wouldn't buy a used tractor from a guy named Haney. And my attitude towards Bears management is quite different than towards the Bulls'. I do get the sense the Bears are doing what the can to win, and they seem to take good care of the players. I don't feel the need to find some foam finger moral victory...
