Let's say it isn't a Big-12 representative. Who would you want to play and why?

I'm sort of liking the idea of an unbeaten Houston team or Okie State if they beat Okie.

I think OK St would be entertaining. But of the actually possible options, I'd say Michigan St.

I think you mean Big Ten. For the show of the game and game atmosphere, I want Wisconsin - because it's a big time program and they travel well. It would be the most respectable win too. Wouldn't mind Penn St or MSU. In 1995, Penn St beat Oregon in Pasadena, so it would be nice to even that up.

Outside of Big Ten? I'd like to beat any respectable SEC team in a bowl.

I don't want to see Penn St in a BCS bowl with all the scandal crap.

Nice one, Tlong. But, on the surface, isn't this like a JV team pointing at the Varsity and saying they ain't go buns, hun?

Last time I checked, Stanford was a pretty big game. We did OK. Ok enough to possibly have sealed a Rose Bowl bid. $17 million and the kids and fans will have the time of their lives in beautiful Pasadena. Beaver nation? Zilch and another bowl seas in front of the 13" black and white. :MARIS61:

Question is, can they win a bowl to break this losing streak?

2009 civil war would've sent us to the Rose Bowl.

The 2001 Fiesta Bowl was our biggest win. Only loss that year was a field goal at UW. We had Chad Johnson and Houshmandzadeh at WR. Nick Barnett at LB. That team was as elite as any ducks team ever.

Drac - that was an awesome game! Loved the Beavs laying that hard of a smash-down on the Irish. But, saying the 2000 team was as elite as any Oregon team is a bit assumptive. That year you lost to the Huskies and had to share a Pac10 Champ - having never won a Pac crown outright. I won't argue that the 2000 team was a great one - but, don't you think if the team was that "elite" they could at least win the Pac outright and not share with UW and UO who had the same conf record? I mean, that bowl win was huge for OSU - but you played an overrated ND team who eventually lost three games to ranked opponents.

Nate - it's been a long and dry run. 2008 Holiday Bowl vs Oklahoma State was our last bowl win. It's like, we're making the 'big dance' and have always been competitive at that level, just can't seal the deal in our last two appearances. It's great winning the Pac back to back, but we need to win on a national level. Duck fans are feeling like this is the year because the team is more well rounded than in years past (defense) and the Big Ten is having a down year.

Ironically, I think 2008 was OSU's last bowl win too, right? Pitt? 3-0?

So you think the Beavs team is worse because there were two other great Pac10 teams that year? That is an indicator of the strength of the 2000 Beavs, not a weaknesss. Those Beavs easily beat a 1 loss UO team at home and only lost by a field goal on the road. There has never been an undefeated Ducks team so it's wide open to debate which team is the best 1 loss team. Some would argue last season was the Ducks best year ever and they had how many great wins, one? They won at home vs Standford in a year the Pac10 was extremely weak.

If you look at all the great NFL talent on that 2000 Beavs teams and how dominant they were by the end of the season I'd be intrigued to see them take on anyone.

i think we shoulda learned what getting ahead of ourselves can do, they need to get there first themselves, and whoever they play is gravy

that being said i think they have the best chance against penn state
