Describe something about an old school Guard. After you make a guess please post your own for others to reply. NO Google allowed! This 5 time NBA all star attended UCLA. He was the leading scorer on one of the greatest teams in NBA history in the early 70's that team was virtually unbeatable. He is often overlooked because he played in the shadows of Jerry West and "Pistol" Pete Maravich.

He teamed up with Bill Russell and Dave Cowens (at different stages of his career) to win championships. He was also a very good defender.
John Havlicek. This Hall of Famer played mostly in the 1950s, and played alongside George Mikan for half of his career. He came out from the University of Texas, and posted averages of 9.8 ppg and 4.2 apg and 3.1 rpg throughout his professional career. He also coached 8 games while still being a player after Red Holzman was fired for having a 14-19 record to start the season.
Slater Martin, I can't believe I actually knew that. This player led the Sonics to their only championship. He was a fantastic defender and was part of one of the most famous steals in NBA history.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (The Other Kevin @ Jul 12 2006, 05:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Lenny Wilkins?</div>Nope, this'll give it away. The steal I'm talking about was a steal by Larry Bird, this guard caught Larry's pass and made a layup.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Zards @ Jul 12 2006, 09:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Dennis Johnson.</div>Yep, "And it's a steal by bird, underneath to DJ he lays it in."
I knew it was a Johnson, I just forgot his first name. I also edited my post, hope it makes it easier to answer. (Use wordplay!)
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CB4AllStar @ Jul 14 2006, 02:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Pete Maravich?</div>Pete Maravich wasnt a shooting guard...Um, I dont know, but is it Bernard King?
It was a good guess. I think he is more of a combo guard then just a PG. He played for 10 seasons and was a wizard with the ball. But I just checked and he played for 4 teams, not 3. He played for the Jazz, Hawks, Hornets, and Celtics.
CB4's right. The shooting guard was more of a pun than anything, Ishould have made that more clear. Your guys' turn.
