So many great fights this year, and so many in just the last few months.

Hendo/Shogun is an instant classic, as is Edgar/Maynard 3. My favourite was Penn/Diaz but it certainly didn't have the comeback drama of the other two.

So many awesome fights this year, voted Hendo v Rua mainly because its the freshest in my brain.

Man, we're starting these "best of 2011" things already? the year just totally flew by.

Penn vs Diaz rd1 was great aaaaaaaaaaand then BJ lost his mojo (or gas tank) and it was all Diaz.
Hendo vs Rua is one of the best fights of all time IMO with the great comeback Shogun mounted, gotta give it to them.

Aldo vs Hominick was similar as Aldo dominated early and Hominick came on late, but Hendo vs Rua just felt more epic to me.

    voted edgar/maynard 3
edgar gets rocked again rd 1, this time maynard paced himself so i thought it was pretty much over for edgar. to my surprise edgar in returns ko's maynard, who was never knocked out before. very impressive to watch, especially if you want to factor in the size difference.

Maybe one I should've included: Cheick Kongo vs. Pat Barry. Crazy fight.

that was indeed an epic fight too. damn there's so many solid great fights from this year, gotta give it to the UFC for buying up all the competition and putting the top fighters in the world in one org, it's made a difference IMO.
