I think Joel will play this year, but I don't know what kind of contract he'll get. Could the Blazers sign him for the MLE? Is that too much? Or not enough?
MLE? are you serious. I love Joel but after that injury he looked really bad, vet minimum if we can't get anyone else. maybe he gets more but no thanks
Dear God no!!!!!!! This team isn't going to win shit, so why bring in a guy that has maybe 1 year left, and wasn't very good to begin with anyway? Spend that money on a youngster and hope you strike gold
He'd be a nice third-string center if you're a title contender. We're l | l this close to being a lotto team. He makes no sense.
I'd rather see Chris Johnson personally. One thing I notice with sport fan bases, they love to go backwards when it comes to former players.
1. We gave Dallas their toughest series. 2. Gerald Wallace is a beast and will be with us from the start this year. 3. Batum is developing as a "go to" player on his national team. He'll be good. 4. Felton should be as good as Miller at PG. 5. LaMarcus is a burdgeoning superstar. 6. Matthews has a healthy ankle. Something that wasn't the case before. 7. Oden will be back imo.
I'm not saying we should sign him. I'm just curious as to what it would take. If he's completely healthy he would be a good signing. I won't know until I see him play though.
I would probably go young as well. It has been 8 months so he could have gotten healthier, but they might as well take a chance on someone younger for that spot on the bench.
FWI... Jason Quick... said on the MSP that he hears Chris Johnson looked amazing this summer from his sources.
I hope by 5-10 it's 5 points, 10 rebounds. And I hear every year that someone looks amazing, and then they show up and look like shit. So I'll temper my expectations.

I would possibly consider signing Joel for the vet minimum, but no more. He had a second serious injury after being traded to the Bobcats and missed the remainder of the season. He was a bench player at best before any injuries and the ones he had are usually career ending, except in McDyess' case he was able to go from an all-star to a role player. MLE is a joke, he may be a worse prospect then scrubs like Chris Johnson or Jeff Pendegraph.
