Thanks Pal. I was going to try and break it as soon as it broke but I got a little hooked on the episode of Breaking Bad I was watching. Anyways, this is a great get and everything I keep hearing from the guy is great. Here's a youtube video if anybody else is curious about the guy. insteresting that Daniels is now a 3* on Rivals but 5.7 just under most 4* stuff. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Reggie-Daniels-108440
Rivals was scheduled to do an update on their rankings the day after Daniels committed. It's purely coincidental that he was moved down a star. However, it is strange that Daniels is a 3 star and is ranked as the #16 ranked safety on there while the #17 ranked safety on Rivals, De'van Bogard, is a 4 star. http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrec...s/rank-2899;_ylt=AoPast5.xFXCQwTXMEtAYkZGPZB4
the rivals board discussed this today. The site has been doing the latest round of reevaluations in the past week releasing a new top 100 & 250 player lists. Apparently Reggie was a borderline 4* before his Sr. year and was jumped by a few others and is now rated a high 3*. It's a coincidence that he committed the day before those new lists came out. Duck commits rated in the top 250 moved subtlety up and down, and Terrence Daniel finally received a rating... he's a 3* too As far as the anomaly that Ed noted about the #17 Safety, check back in a couple days and he'll probably be listed as a 3* too. Not sure if ya'll can access this link, but it's an article talking about player movement in their ratings http://oregon.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1301060 STOMP
What do you all think about Gehrig Dieter? http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/88178/gehrig-dieter http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=4517647 Good size, incredible production, allegedly pretty fast (4.5 on ESPN.com). ESPN blogged this yesterday: And the link Targus posted, above, had said about Dieter: He looks really good on paper... and Auburn, Florida and Oregon have all showed interest (although haven't offered him). He seems more of a mystery than a lot of these guys. Ed O.
speed and attitude are said to be issues. In other news, DJ Foster is supposed to be delaying yet again and has scheduled an OV at USC. I'm pretty sure he's already visited there before unofficially. STOMP
I just spent some time reading his Twitter feed and... he seems to young. Haha. That's frustrating. I wonder if Oregon's reportedly renewed interest in Dieter is at all linked to that. Ed O.
Yea beating USC was really important! Dominance over the Trojans in front of 5* recruits would have really helped the Quack in the off season. Now with USC off probation and Kiffen spinning his BS, this could be costly to us. Pisses me off we didn't focus more on that game and started so late. Let's hope it doesn't bite us in the ass next year!
All I have from him is this, Shouldn't be too hard to pry him away from SMU but I think he is a secondary option if we don't snag some other guys, namely Foster.
As I (rather abashedly) revealed earlier, I was reading his Twitter account and he tweeted about wearing his Ducks hoody and how it was the most comfy. I agree that, if they want him, it looks like he'd be willing to come to Oregon. And it also seems like he's being treated like a backup choice. Ed O.
The 15 max scholarship limit doesn't start until this year and that was always going to hurt them far worse then the bowl ban. Their fans can puff their chests out as much as they want, it doesn't change the writing on the wall. btw... Barkley just filed his NFL early entry draft papers. Most everyone projects him and fellow JR Matt Kalil as top half of the 1st round picks http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/ncf/...-matt-barkley-takes-step-filing-paperwork-nfl STOMP
15 scholarships is... brutal. They already have 11 commits. As much as I'd hate that they are going to get whichever four remaining guys they want, if we're going head-to-head for more than four players, at least it'll increase our chances on that fifth one. Very nice Ed O.
they'll be able to bend this a little this year by having up to 3 players qualify for last years class as Early Enrollees, but this scholarship limit is still going to hurt a lot. The top shelf types they go after tend to have better NFL prospects, so like Barkley and Kalil they'll continue to have a higher rate of true Juniors looking to go pro early... Robert Woods would be a good guess to go pro early next year. Fewer players coming in + a higher rate of attrition = a shrinking roster. Remember how gassed they were in the 4th Q this year? btw... off the top of my head, recruits we are seemingly going head to head with USC for include Ellis McCarthy, Kevon Seymour & now DJ Foster STOMP
