<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Sacramento Bee - Ron Artest is complaining that the Sacramento Kings were mistreated during the Spurs-Kings series of the past season, and according to a report in the Sacramento Bee the treatment went beyond the confines of the AT&T Center.Artest complained that the AT&T Center's visitors' locker room reeked with gas before the Spurs' Game 5 victory, and that the hotel experience at two facilities didn't do much for relaxation and preparation throughout the series.Wake-up calls in hotel rooms, Artest said, routinely came hours early for numerous players. And room service, he also said, would take several hours to arrive. The Kings switched hotels after losing Game 1, moving from a Hyatt Regency on the city's outskirts to a downtown Marriott. San Antonio's annual "Fiesta" event was taking place at the time, and Kings officials said they had stayed at the Hyatt because there was no availability near the city's Riverwalk. But Artest said the hotel move didn't improve matters."It was both hotels, really, but the second hotel was horrible," said Artest, who was suspended for Game 2 of the series. "The second hotel, they were waking us up too early. They were bringing our lunch late. When you play an NBA game, you've got to have your lunch at a certain time. You eat at a certain time."One morning, I didn't even get my breakfast. I had to eat my breakfast on the bus. And then when I got to the game, they had the gas (in the locker room). The gas was killing our locker room. It wasn't even a safe environment. It was horrible, horrible. ? I just know that if the Spurs are going to make us smell gas, we should've made the Spurs smell gas. We should've put gas in their locker room."Kings shooting guard Kevin Martin said he never requested a wake-up call, but he did remember smelling the gas."I just had the gas thing," he said. "It was horrible. I think I remember just smelling it once."</div>http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/414...e_inhospitable/
Yeah right. I wish this dude would just shut up and stop making a fool out of himself. Seriously. Everyone basically hates this guy now.
thats horrible if its true, but you have to realize that's basically what all teams go through in the playoffs, like the lakers against the kings in 2003,the hotel the lakers stayed at gave kobe food poisoning :no1: but you have to fight through it and play the game and dont blame the hotel for it,but as for that series the spurs were getting alot more calls than the kings were it was pretty obvious,if it werent for bonzi wells and that game winning layup from kevin martin the kings would have been swept artest didnt really play that big a part for the kings in the playoffs
It's not like he should have expected to beat the #1 Spurs when he was on an 8th seed team. I mean, come on. They just dont match up to the defensive intensity of the Spurs.
Artest is an idiot. Why is he complaining now about losing to the spurs so long ago? And like all of that stuff matters. O NO! He had to eat breakfast on the bus. That was probably the reason that they lost the series. Grow up Ron Ron and focus on your Summer League games u big baby

He thinks that's bad? He should ask Magic Johnson. The Lakers would get straight up abused when they went to Boston.
There's nothing wrong with Artest talking about his hotel experiences. You guys are just hating on him too much. He didn't say"omg, we were so much beeta dan da spers that if da hotel wa good we ween".But ya, all teams go through it. The opposite side's fans always try to make life hell for the other team.
lol, artest thinks he's special or something. i'm sure it happens all the time.gas in the locker rooms though.. c'mon. that's pretty bad. not like gas'll do anything to you unless it's a bunch. headache perhaps?
The citizens of SA are so devoted to the Spurs that it is crazy. I'm sure I've mentioned before numerous times how I wore my Amare Stoudemire jersey during the WCF in 2004-05 and restaurants and places I went to would refuse to let me go in because of it.
You guys need to chill. This is a pretty mild statement from Ron Ron. Its obviously an issue that needs to be addressed. Hotels should have contracts with the NBA that ensure no tampering. It can mess with a players pshyche when he gets a wakeup call at 3 in the morning on gameday. Players have to eat a certain amount of time before a game. He didn't blame any losses on those things however. Back in the 2002 WCF a Sac hotel gave Kobe a bad burger and he ended up with food poisoning. I think that was an accident, but this is professional sports. There shouldn't be any accidents involving hotels.

Your brain has cycles that it goes through, and when you have one interrupted, you can't just start from where you left off. You can tell him to stop whining, but I'd like to see how you act when you get woken up at 5 or 6 instead of 8 or 9 and get your dinner served a few hours late.I can't imagine that it changed the series, but you gotta love how Spurs fans defend themselves no matter what they do. When other fans do something they are always the ones to point fingers. Straight hypocritical, that's all it is.
If this is true then this is ridicules. This stuff should not be happening at all.But you gotta love Artest haha
