Our outside shooting would instantly become a lot better with Oden in the lineup. Defenses would have to sag off the shooters.

maybe by "practice" that means being able to play a half court game with others that involves contact? instead of being limited as he is now

I would not have wanted Rudy shooting 3's as awful as he was the past few years, and Roy while improved was okay. Wes for one. Nic, and Felton has improved his 3 pt shot

and frankly a lot of much more open 12-18 footers would work just fine too

Even though he shot so horribly, Rudy still drew coverage when he was standing at the 3pt line and prevented some double teams on LA. Losing him for nothing will hurt.

I'm not too worried about missing out on Rudy's 3's. he was so inconsistent, he made me want Derek Anderson back.

Btw, Greg Oden never "fooled" me.

You mean Jamal, 35% career three point shooter? That's the guy you want? You're saying that Felton, who shoots 33% from three for his career is significantly worse than Jamal, who shoots 35%?

Can they do that? I thought it was one or the other. If he signs the QO, then he becomes a UFA at the end of the year.

Forget the 3 pt shooting, just imagine LA getting his in a big way with the attention that Oden will command.

It would be so nice to have a genuine threat in the middle. Even the shell of a formerly genuine threat would work.

LA is truly mature and hitting his prime now. A functioning Oden will help him vault to elite status.

If it's between Roy and JJ Redick, give me JJ Redick. But it's not.

Felton, Wes, Nic can all shoot the 3. Dunno about Nolan yet, but technically he and Babbitt can also.

For that matter, give Amnesty Travis a minimum contract to be the "sit in the corner PF" and be ready to jack it up.

If he really is cleared to practice soon, that's awesome. That is better than the alternative. But there is no way he can be in any type of shape. It will take a couple months to get the rust off.
Better be prepared to be patient. (yeah that will happen)

Have we ever seen Blazers Oden in good shape? Seems to me, he's had some pretty productive stretches for us while chipping away the rust.
