I hope it's true, but it's awfully hard not to think this isn't just some really well laid bait by his agent attempting to drum up some offers from other teams. Forget for a second about where he ends up. The game would go something like this: if somebody makes him a fairly lucrative offer he's either headed somewhere else and making some good guaranteed money or the Blazers match he's still making that same good guaranteed money. Definition of win-win from Oden's camp. Fuck it, like I said hopefully he's close to being cleared.

Pretty much. I'd be surprised if Conley said that Greg was behind schedule, and he may not play this season. This is what agents do, especially in a short FA window. I'd be leaking doctored tapes of Oden jumping over tall buildings to drum up interest for an offer.
