Based on what you know at this point, if only one of these young QB's were available to you, which one would you take as your starting QB?

I'm trying to think of any other QB's in this class (rookie or 2nd year), but can't think of any off-hand. That's why I've provided a write-in option.

I'm torn. Cam Newton might have been my first choice, but, dang, if Tebow hasn't actually won games!

    I'll take Aaron Rodgers.

...easy, Andy Dalton is a gamer that has all of the intangibles you'd want from a QB! However, Tebow does have a propensity to "just win", but let's not forget the emerging Bronco defense that has helped fuel the winning ways for Denver. Remember when the Ravens won the Super Bowl with Shit Dilfer [just "protect" the football, OK...the defense will handle the rest]?

Cam has shown flashes of brilliance, but I think he will have the same issues as McNabb/Vick...the inability to win when it counts most in the NFL. He does have more "upside" than Dalton and Tebow combined, but I don't see it ever being realized.

Funny how you compare Cam to Vick and McNabb. Pure coincidence, I'm sure.

Did you take him when he was sitting/waiting patiently on the bench behind Favre? ;)

Yeah, me, too. :) At one time, (when he was sitting on the bench) I wanted the Pack to trade him to Seattle.

BTW, I had forgotten to add McCoy to the list.

...no coincidence at all, all three possess(ed) nearly identical skill sets. And both Vick and McNabb have yet to win an important game like a truly clutch QB.

With the Falcons, Vick won a HUGE playoff game in GB against Favre. I believe he also won a big playoff (NFC Title?) game against the Vikings.

Well if you're going to add McCoy you have to add Bradford, who admittedly has health problems but is behind an absolutely atrocious line and has no playmakers on his team outside an aging Jackson (who again is behind an atrocious line) and questionably Lloyd.

Vick led his team to Favre's first ever, IIRC, loss in Green Bay during the playoffs. Like, in Green Bay. We wont talk about the amount of times McNabb dragged his team to the NFC championship and then also went to the Super Bowl only to run into the Patriots machine (and Owens on a bum ankle that had two screws in it six weeks after injury), and still kept the game to 24-21.

Trust me, considering I had lived in Atlanta for 12 years, he's not under my radar. That said, for some reason, I drew the line at rookies or 2nd year players.

And as far as winning, Cam did lead his team to a NC last season.

Newton has already set the record for rushing touchdowns in a season by a quarterback, and he is only a rookie and has four games left. Almost all of their games have been close and competitive except one (two if you want to count the final score of the Detroit game). For a rookie quarterback when a questionable defense (31st against the run, 31st in points allowed, average pass defense), to join a team that was absolutely awful last year and be 4-8 and competitive in almost every game, Newton has done a great job and combined with his even more potential factor I would go with him.

Cam and it's not even close. He's a better thrower and runner than Tebow. What Tebow does have is the ability to lead and that is huge but i get the feeling 10 years from now we'll look back and laugh that anyone thought Tebow would be a quality nfl QB.
