Wow, i like this for the Hawks. I mean, they could've lost Harrington for nothing or close to it, but instead they are getting a 15/10 guy to fill the gap. and if they can get Murphy AND pietrus? I think they win this deal.

You're underrating Murphy kingjamez. He is a good rebounder, and he can shoot the ball and he can also drive in too and get himself a better shot. He averages 15/10. He is a good player. Al will leave anyway, so you might as well pull the trigger on this trade.I could see the Warriors making the playoffs with that roster..Ike is probably ready to start, and if O'Bryant doesnt do a good job, they still have Biedrins and Foyle to help him out..

He's a good rebounder but he's bound to get a lot of rebounds playing with Adonal Foyle. For a 6'11" PF he is a pitifull shotblocker, I think Bobby Simmons is a better shotblocker than Murphy. On offense he turns from a 6'11" PF into a 6'6" SG jacking up perimeter shots. He can hurt you sometimes but a majority of the time he shoots terrible percentages. They need to start Diogu this year. Murphy just doesn't do it.

Memo Okur doesnt shoot much better then him so I dont see your problem.

Yes I do, because you are being hypocritical. You first said that you had a man crush with Mehmet Okur. And now your saying Troy Murphy sucks, when they play pretty much the exact same games.
I'm actually going to agree with cb4 on this one. Troy Murphy doesn't hurt his team at all. I've seen him play a few times, and he's a good rebounder who can hit the outside shot. He even plays decent inside. He doesn't hurt his team at all.

I was calling it ludacris to not have him as a top 5 center in the NBA. If Troy Murphy was a 20 a game as a center I would give him the credit he deserves as a top 10 center...but this is a different argument....Troy Murphy is very replaceable and Diogu should start...14/10 is not hard to replace.

okay, first of all, it's ludicrous, not ludacris. We're not talking about rappers here.Secondly, i hate the fact that you bring up the fact that he only gets rebounds bc he has no other rebounders on his team. That's BS. He still has to get rebounds over the other team's players. And just bc he's not a good shotblocker doesn't mean he hurts the team.

You put Memo at the 3 spot before Marcus Camby and other guys that play physically inside. I mean come on, if thats not dick riding, I dont know what is...Memo was 18 a game, not 20. He plays almost exactly like Memo, and you were saying he was hurting his team. Thats what I called you out for.

Troy Murphy wasnt the player they wanted they wanted a back to the basket type player. like Ike. but i dont kno if Harrington is the answer.

He went from a good strong post guy 2 years ago and now all he does is shoot/play from the perimeter and he isn't a good shooter. That won't help the Warriors go anywhere.

Range, rebounding, and scoring are 3 very valuable assets for a PF. Also, yes, he can still play in the post, and his post game is pretty polished. He doesnt get the ball too much because he has J Rich, Baron Davis, Ike, Dunleavy, he had Fisher, and Pietrus, and others. When you look at the Jazz last year they had...AK 47, yeah, and Memo. No one really else....No one really else established themself as a 12+ ppg guy really, because Carlos Boozer was "injured" for most of the year. Memo had alot more touches then Troy. Let's get that outta the way. He is a good shooter. For a PF he is a great shooter. He has range and that is very valuable for a big man. Most big men cant shoot past 12 or 15 feet.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (kingjamez @ Jul 10 2006, 02:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>He's a decent player, with decent rebounding ability, and he's a decent 3 point shooter.
