    and

    ...

    Montee Ball.

Yes, he scored 32 TDs and led the nation in rushing yardage, but I still think that LaMichael should feel even more motivation for a big game :)

Ball is only one TD from tying Barry Sanders' single season touchdowns from scrimmage mark. Barry has a total of 39 while Ball currently has 38 total TD's.

Though back then they didn't include postseason numbers into your regular season totals. Barry would've actually had 44 total TD's, as he rushed for 5 TD's in the Holiday Bowl that year. Impressive for Ball nonetheless, though he's still not better than LaMichael .

The only thing keeping LMJ off that list is his injury.

I'm not a Ducks fan, but as a casual observer seems like that Oregon offense is just as effective with DeAnthony or Kenyon at RB. If there isn't much difference between your first and third string running backs, its pretty hard to argue one should be the heisman.

thats a reasonable view Draco, though I'd think having carried the load for the majority of the season holds considerable value. I wouldn't have wanted DAT running between the tackles like James as he doesn't seem to have nearly the power, but he's a beast on outside runs. I'd just disagree that Barner is at the talent level of James and Thomas. That he filled in for James this year & posted similar number comes with the asterix that is was against two terrible defenses.

btw... LaMichael, Ball and Richardson are the 3 finalists for the Doak Walker award which James won last year

Oregon fan here, and I have no problem that he didnt make the cut this year. He didn't show up to 2 of the 3 biggest games this year.
