You won't hear one negative thing from me about Nate, upper management, ownership, the GM (HA!) or the team this year, or Denny can ban my ass.

Follow-up promises: my post count might drop to five or six per month and I still reserve the right to be funny.

Since Nik has promised to be on his best behavior; I will now try to make a turnaround and list the positive things I have heard in the last couple days. LaMarcus has improved his body fat numbers and is paying attention to what he is eating. Chris Johnson has put on 18 pounds, which is really a quite amazing feat for one off season. Brandon has apparently come to terms with his reduced ability and is willing to take on any role for the betterment of the team. Elliiot williams apparently has not lost any of his athleticism post-surgery. Did I miss anything?

I'll stop the bitchin' when the managements has the backbone to make a splash and upgrade the PG position.

    Until then...

They turned miller into felton, who if he plays like he did on the knicks, then the there are only a handfull of guards better in the league all of which would most likely cost us lma if The teams would even consider trading them.

"Plays like he did on the Knicks."

You mean that glorious stretch of 50 odd games he was in shape, motivated, and playing for the NBA equivalent of Chip Kelly.....3 conditions that no longer exist.

Felton is more likely to make a contribution this season than Roy or Oden - but that is truly damning with faint praise.

Seems like your View of Felton is about as negative as it gets.

His stats were inflated due to the system, but he did play D and showed great passing ability and decision making with the Knicks. Those things won't go away just because he switched coach's and him in Denver he was the odd man out. Knew he was gone at the end of the season and they really wanted to feature Ty Lawson. The only real unknown with Felton is what shape he is in and we will know that within the week.

I on the other hand will take the honest approach and bash them when they mess up. Like last night

You can't post without resorting to the shtick that you're the only level-headed poster because you're the only one to see everything as negative?

You could try actually posting in a level-headed manner. You know, acknowledge the positive while also pointing out legitimate negatives. Nah, that's boring.

I'm almost always level headed ... negative or positive, emotion rarely has anything to do with what I say or write.

If I have no trouble putting on 18 lbs during the off-season I don't see why it's a big deal for Chris Johnson???

That sucks. I don't fully agree with you on a lot of your management positions, but when you are not being over the top in mid-battle, you have very well thought out and poignant views that greatly help in furthering discussion around these parts. And that accounts for the majority of the time. Occasionally you get involved in these pedantic wars over minutia, which I just skip, but most of the time you greatly add to the dialogue around here. I get tired of apologists who would look at the bright side of pandas getting cancer, so having you give a more balanced approach is needed, even if you tend towards the negative.

    I hope you reconsider.

He's in denial, but then again Nik doesn't believe in psychology or brain science so it's understandable.

Oh I'll still be honest and I reserve the right to point out things that happen on the court and why they happen, but I'm done with the prognostication business (which I've tended to see as trend pointing downward) or making judgments about the character and intelligence of the people in charge and the players on the team.

I always strive to be honest in my opinions -- sometimes brutally so -- but I also know I have a tendency to be contemptuous of people that make arguments based on emotion. I've slowly come to realize that the content of the stuff I've been posting for the past year or so often diminishes the quality of the discussions around here as people get riled up and revert to entrenched positions when they feel the team they are so emotionally invested in is "attacked."
