Whenever LMA has gotten into early foul trouble, the lack of legit back PF that can score and defend was glaring. Landry isn't an amazing starter, but he's a guy that can get his own shot and rebound the hell out of the ball. I think the full MLE is reasonable for him.

Are you kidding? Roy still wears a Blazer jersey and look at what some of the fans here are saying about him.

I thought that is what you were suggesting. I don't want to start over right now. I see your point that we have pieces that we can trade now. But KP really did this through the draft, not really through trades. And we were in the lottery. I am not ready to return to the lottery.

    I meant past blazers.

excluding zach, miles, bonzi and anderson.

I remember years ago people wanted Damon S to buy the team!

I agree unless Freedland can contribute. And he will be a free agent. Obviously he is not in the same class as the three you mentioned. No one is. But what quality player is on the trading block right now for an expiring contract? I agree dumping Camby would be ideal. I just don't see it happening for a quality player. Maybe at the deadline when someone is desperate.

You need to build through the draft and then add pieces (Gerald Wallace, Wes Matthews, Raymond Felton) through trades and free agency. In reality though, Aldridge, Batum and Roy were through trades.

If the fans of Ptown that "everyones" so worried we'll lose if BRoy is let got vanish.... I would retort "That's a HUGE VICTORY because those are some of the dumbest fucking people on the planet!!!" This guys knees are gone and they wont repair! HE KNOWS IT! Paul ALLen knows it, and so does the coaching staff!" This is a SAD OBVIOUS MARKETING STUNT to get people to come to the games. Paul Allen wants to protect his investment for atleast the next 2 years while looking for a suitable buyer. This is truly how sad our worthless owner has fallen. He wont spring for playoff t-shirts for a sold out Rose Garden, but will PR boost a gimp show that every true basketball fans knows has no shot of getting past the first round of the playoffs. WOW!

Let's not even go to the facts that B Roy plays no defense and slows the offense down to a crawl, but this all but screams 32 win season. As for those who think the blazers had a shot at an up tempo offense this year??!! Think again!!!! LA's #'s will sag, Wallace will be picking his nose waiting for a play to develop and Wes and Batum strengths will be rusting. However, we will get to see Brandon limp up the court, run the shot clock down then try and go 1 on 3 with bad knees. Now that's something to buy season tickets for! HAHAHAHAHA!

Paul Allen is looking to dump this team and he's hoping BRoys past success will buy him some time with the fans...

This is no longer a product worth supporting, because it's scam! We don't have a GM, we are not waiving a guy who can barely walk, and we trying to extend another that breaks his knee getting out of bed. This is stupid people!

Thank God for the Ducks!!! I'm out!

Are you saying that PA keeps Roy and resigns Oden because he wants to sell the team?

If PA wants to sell the team, then he dumps big contracts and doesn't resign a big question mark to a multi-year deal.

I also don't see how keeping 16 million on the payroll (plus luxury tax) will be made up in ticket sales.

Maybe PA doesn't want to sell, doesn't care how much he spends on the team and figures if he has a year to play with Roy's contract he will grossly overpay Roy for one year in hopes he can contribute anything to the team.

If it was me, I would say fuck the fans and cut Roy because even if he could help, he isn't worth the money. But I don't have PA type money. Not many do . . .

If PA wants this team to be better he cuts Roy who kills this teams tempo and plays no defense, get a freakin GM, and gets a coach that has an ability to draw up a freaking offense!

    That's where I'd start!

BTW- Need a Magnifier is exactly the type of fan who feels winning is the free chalupa at the end of the game! No offense taken!

We will use Chris Johnson, Camby, and Wallace to back up Aldridge. Not a problem.

OK, I get you don't agree with the philosophy of the Blazers.

But explain to me how keeping Roy and trying to resign Oden to a multi-year deal is preparing to sell the team? Or how keeping 16 million on the payroll when the team is over the cap is a way of PA making money off the fans?

Backing up Aldridge with those guys is what didn't work last year. Camby will be hurt by Martin Luther King day bro!

I would not consider getting Aldridge to be an addition through a trade; we already had the #4 pick from sucking so bad. I consider his addition to be the result of being a horrible lottery team.

To build through the draft you need to suck very bad, KP was able to have a couple great drafts because he inherited the worse roster in the league, which is potentially a huge benefit for a new GM. I don't think trying to build through the draft is a good strategy for where this team is right now. Maybe we can get extremely lucky on a late pick that turns into a Boozer or Ginobili or Marc Gasol or something but other then that it'll have to be trades and free agents.

Last year we added Wes in free agency and Gerald in a trade, so if you make some smart or lucky moves its still very possible.

I don't like the complete rebuild idea, because to suck enough for a franchise player pick we'll need to dump guys like LA/Gerald/Nic. Then even if we struck gold with the next Dwight Howard they'd be surrounded by scrubs and want to leave just like Chris Paul, Carmello, Lebron, Bosh.
