We've supposedly made many attempts over the last probably two years or more to trade for Chris Paul. How's that any different than dallas targeting Deron?
And I wouldn't consider drafting Telfair looking at it as a stop gap.

You say we traded a lottery pick and two first rounders? How do you figure that?

We traded them the 2011 Hornets pick, which was basically the same as our pick being late in the first round; and our 2013 pick, which looks like another late first rounder.

Yes Bayless was traded for the Hornets pick, but you can't count those assets twice since one was used for the other. And Bayless is not close to the value of Wallace, Gerald was the second best player on a legit playoff team. Bayless is a scrub bench player on a horrible lottery team.

You complain about management overvaluing young guys like Rudy, Outlaw, Martell and trading them a season to late; then think its bad when we trade away a young player who was projected to be behind Armon Johnson in the rotation for a player 1 year removed from playing in the all-star game???

If Richard Jefferson can opt out of a $14 million dollar one year contract coming off a mediocre season of not even being a starter and still get a $40+ million long-term deal I think Wallace can easily opt out of a smaller $9 million contract being the second best player on a playoff team. Not saying for certain he does opt out, but I'd say it's more likely than not he does opt out just to get more guaranteed years. He most certainly is no guarantee to stay in for that final season.

McMillan has proven over 11 years as a head coach that he can't get deep into the playoffs. I wouldn't call replacing him change for the sake of change

Roy should be paid. He has meant a lot to the city of Portland. But he shouldn't take any cap space

Earl Barron, Chris Johnson, Armon Johnson, Patty Mills. I think they had the roster spots, don't you?

Franchise was the absolute wrong word to use. Management is what I should have said. However, it reflects poorly on the franchise when they do stupid things like the Darius Miles threatening letter

I see no reason why we would have to amnesty Roy off the bat. Teams have to us 85% of there capspace this year so a lot of people that seem like they would be fit with portland and we could use the MLE on will get bigger deals (Landry/Hayes) just because of how much money teams have to spend and how mediocre this free agent period is. If you want to look at the optimistic view then not only is Roy a player on the team but he is a big fat chunk of money we can get off our books whenever we want if the right player comes our way.

Don't say anything negative about the Blazers MM, or face the wrath of the "fan boys"...

That is how sad this fucking forum has become...

gimme a fucking break. It's sad when someone defends the Blazers in a Blazers forum, but makes sense for someone to mock them because another team is trying to clear space at a weak attempt at a PG, when we've made similar weak attempts at a different PG? GTFO. Fan boys. Fuck you.

There's a big difference between critical analysis and purely emotional negativity. The former is welcomed, the latter is pathetic.

And another thing they need to do is player development; building the athleticism, physique, and basketball skills of the players they have. They should go out and hire the best they can find; one guy for small men and one guy for big men. Pay them what's needed and for as long as in needed. Find somebody on the cutting edge on the body building and rehabilitation sides. Same for a top notch nutritionist. (And no, I don't think Dan Dickau counts as one of the best or Buck Williams).

On another note I would like to say that I really appreciate MM's contribution to the board and I don't think it is at all fair to call him a troll and i don't think it's conducive to open discussion to imply that psychological factors affect his (or any other poster's) style of contributing.
