Let's just hope that seasoning isn't in the form of MSG (or such)....if you know what I mean.

 

I think Greg will take two seasons to get truly seasoned offensively. If he's able to play most of this season, I doubt he'll look anything more than the raw player with glimpses of dominance. The health risk coupled with the rawness will scare a lot of GMs away.

Although I just saw DeAndre Jordan got $40 million for 5 years. So apparently GMs have learned nothing.

I wanted more "systems" changes. But owners shouldn't need a "system" to protect themselves from themselves.

 

I think people are missing the point. The Blazers probably need Oden more than he needs them ... and he's going to want to test his value in free agency. Now that doesn't mean he doesn't end up picking the Blazers (if the money is right) but there's almost zero incentive for him to take an extension now with his value around the league as low as it is -- if he's able to play and produce (and stay healthy) his value will only go up from here.

Even if he is physically capable of playing in 2012-13, it will have been nearly 3 years since he touched a basketball. After that long a lay-off, just how productive could he actually be? Terrible investment.
