The posibilities of a healthy Oden are game changers. Remember the last time he was healthy, we had no inside post presence. We forced the issue of trying to post up GO; which I felt frustrated him.

Now that LMA has that post presence and Wallace is a great post player too; GO can freely move about, let the game come to him and he can fucking play HIS GAME.

Also, with a healthy Oden, our rebounding can change dramatically. Perimeter D will get much better because we can gamble more defensively. Our perimeter players can stay up on our guys, knowing we have the big fella to alter or block and drives to the basket.

    I AM REALLY EXCITED!

I know some people here are down on Roy and Oden and the Blazers in general but it sure feels good right now to at least feel optimistic about this year.

All this healthy Oden talk is making me nervous. Has he even been cleared to play?

I'm down on Roy, because he said himself that he's bone-on-bone arthritic in both knees.

I'm an Elite Member of the Oden Bandwagon, because I think that all he's done is strengthen his knee through the issues he's been having. Kenyon Martin, Amare and Zach Randolph seem to be playing ok after MF surgery.

Even if Roy doesn't play well. Even if Roy is a former shell of himself. The posibility of a Healthy Oden will negate all of that negativity. See we don't really need scoring from the center position. We need the D and rebounding more than anything else. A healthy Oden will turn this shit around.

Felton, Matthews, Wallace, LMA and Oden line-up has enough scoring, D and rebounding that can make any other team worry about playing us. This is great news!

If he's even close to the form he was before he stopped playing; there should be major excitment.

Mags, I am trying, honest to God. I listened to LMA the other day and he made reference to being here for his (I think) seventh year, and all the "wait till next year" stuff came rushing back..the totality of failed plans kind of rocked me. I at best can muster only a wait and see attitude.

What I do expect is great play from LMA, Wes, Felton, Crash and Nic

What I also expect is an injured Oden, a unhappy and discontented Roy that only has half a game left (in terms of ability) and that by the end of this year Nate gets the exit shown to him. Paul dumps players to get below the cap and the team goes on the block.

Hey don't be down man. Dallas fans have been constantly let down for 7 years and it finally paid off last season. This is why the NBA is simply amazing.

So maybe I missed something; Oden's been cleared to play? Yes, no, maybe?

The biggest improvement will be rebounding imo. With him we're a great rebounding team.

We will soon find out. The MRI has been finished and the doctor is reviewing it while Oden is doing a Physical.

Ah, so what you're saying is that it's not time to get excited just yet (but it might be sometime in the future)

I don't understand why we'd be more excited now than we would have been a month or six months ago about a healthy Oden.

I LOVE the idea of a healthy Oden. He might be healthy someday... maybe someday soon. Until and unless I see him healthy, though, in a game? I'm not excited. I am willing to have my heart broken again by another injury, but I'm not going to have it broken by the current one.

Yes. Yes it does. I'll take my simple pleasures when I can. There's always time for the bubble to burst, later. But for now, in the absence of perfect knowledge, I rejoice in the warm glow of optimism. :)
