I missed a little bit of the interview but here's what I caught: * Eventually Batum or Wes will be the everyday starting SG * Will not miss Rudy Fernandez; Roy has really worked on his outside shot this summer * Sky is the limit if Batum can handle more responsibility with the ball in his hands. * Ruled out Landry and Hayes (too much money) -- Reggie Evans a good fit. * Chris Johnson has a lot of upside. Will get a strong look. * Team really wants to bring back Przybilla. Joel really enjoys fatherhood and could retire * Greg wants to return. Loyalty factor -- wants to reward the Blazers for all the money they have invested. Will test the FA market next summer.
* Eventually Batum or Wes will be the everyday starting SG Wes is the one, when healthy last season he showed up B-Roy big time. * Will not miss Rudy Fernandez; Roy has really worked on his outside shot this summer Let's have him take Batum's spot of standing in the corner * Sky is the limit if Batum can handle more responsibility with the ball in his hands. Key word, handle(s)! * Ruled out Landry and Hayes (too much money) -- Reggie Evans a good fit. Something, anything. * Chris Johnson has a lot of upside. Will get a strong look. IF he can stand his ground, he's in. * Team really wants to bring back Przybilla. Joel really enjoys fatherhood and could retire More bigs the merrier. I think it's either Portland or nothing for Przy * Greg wants to return. Loyalty factor -- wants to reward the Blazers for all the money they have invested. Will test the FA market next summer. Been saying this all along. Now all we have to do is be a team worth coming back to (winning!)
Unless Wes has worked hard on his 'handles' since last season, I'll take Nico's handles over Wes', thank you. Last season Wes was a train wreck with the ball.
Talk of our starting swing positions reminds me of an interesting read in Hollinger's Blazer preview, he noted that Wes and Nic statistically were both below average to poor rated defenders by advanced stats. I'd assume that’s still far better then Roy, but just interesting that those two have such a different reputation repeated by many. LaMarcus was actually ranked decently if I remember correctly.
Driving maybe, but when Wes' ankle was healthy he was creating and shooting at a rather impressive clip
I listened. First time in a while. And just hearing Canzano's voice made me nauseous. I will admit he usually does a good interview. He asks good questions and keeps things flowing well. But it's something about his voice that just makes me sick. It's the same feeling I get when I am watching some crime show with child molesters. He just makes my skin crawl. I know he not that bad, but hey that is the impression he leaves. Gerald on the other hand was awesome.
best news I've heard yet. B/c the next basketball-related thing Canzano gets right will be the first.
Well I can't say I would hate it. There is not a huge difference between the 2 and 3. But he would have to be more aggressive offensively attacking the basket. He does have a nice smooth mid range shot curling off of screens. But I am sure if he is not aggressive it will be Nate's fault.
