    It's not quite like that. We were all 80-90% sure Oden and Roy were done, this just put the final nail in our last 10% of hope.

    I know it feels like we're cursed, but remember that Roy had these knee issues when he was drafted. We drafted a star who was pre-destined to be a flash in the pan. That's why the Celtics and T-Wolves passed up on him.

    And remember that it was only a 1 in 150 shot or whatever that we win the lottery the year we drafted Oden. We were going to be picking at around 13. But I know, it sucks that we thought the basketball gods were finally going to bestow some fortune on Portland....

    Gah ... comparing this to a true tragedy where thousands of people perished in a ball of fire and smoke to what happened yesterday is just wrong on so many levels.

    This is the dumbest, most idiotic thing i've ever read on this message board and that is saying something. if i could negative rep this by a million i would. thousands of people DYING in the most horrific single event to ever happen on U.S. soil should never in any way be compared to a couple millionaires calling it quits.
