They've managed to make the playoffs the last two years without him. And this year the Heat only beat them by a few points each time. Do I have to say it again, THE HEAT ARE OLD!!! The only good player they have is Wade. You need to have more than 1 player to win. And BTW, Wade doesn't dissect defenses, the refs do it for him.Oh, and of course, I thought they'd play the Cavs in the championship I meant that they'd face eachother in the conference championships. As much as you are opposed to the fact that a back-to-back playoff team won't do any better because they got a real center, and still have all of their players, I believe it.
The only good player they have is Wade? WTF. That was the dumbest thing I've possibly ever heard on here.Oh yeah, I guess the best Center in the League, and the most dominate inside player sucks, so does Zo, who comes off the bench and plays great defense. He sucks too. So does Walker. He scores points, but it doesnt matter. He sucks as well. Jason Williams runs their offense well and scores points, but no, I'll listen to you again. He sucks. And Payton and Haslem suck as well.
Overrated? How? Everyone thought they were going to be garbage 2 seasons ago, but yet they got a pretty high playoff seed and made it into the playoffs. How is that being overrated? This year no one thought they would make the playoffs after their start, but yet they did, and they claimed he 7th seed. How is that overrated? Everyone thought that they would lay down, and die to the Heat. But they didn't. They put up a very good fight to the eventual NBA champions. Once again, I'll say it. How is that overrated?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (ace_o_spades @ Jul 19 2006, 11:57 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Chicago is quite possibly the most overrated team in the past 5 years</div>I gotta argue with this one before I can argue with CB4. What are you talking about? Overrated? 2 years ago, did anyone think a team with Gordon, Hinrich, Deng, Chandler, and Nocioni would make the playoffs? Hell no. That is quite possibly the most idiotic thing I've heard all month. Now CB4, once again I will explain to you that the Heat are old. Lets see, Payton is 38, Mourning is 36, O'Neal is 34, Walker is 30, Williams is 31, Haslem is 26, and Wade is 24.On the other side, Wallace is 32, Nocioni is 26, Hinrich is 25, Gordon is 23, Deng is 21, and Thomas is 19.Now you tell me which lineup looks better and which one you would rather have. I know my choice is obvious.
So what? They won the NBA championship with old players. All of them will likely be just as effectice next year. The Spurs also won the championship in 03 with old players on their team. The thing is, the Heat have dominant star power on offense, and good role players who can get the job done. You wont be able to stop Wade and Shaq, and the wole players will still get the job done.
What does it matter we have a rather old lineup? San Antonio won most of there championships with pretty old players themselves. Wade also played sub-par against the Bulls last year which is what worries me the most, the only way we won was because they had absolutely no one to stop Shaq in the middle. Either way, Wade has gotten better as a player and continues to improve. I still think they won't be able to win without a real star player in there line-up, Ben isn't a star when he can't play on offense. Wade will probably play his best against Chicago if we do meet in the playoffs, like he always does.I agree with ace, man they are overrated this year. All of a sudden with Wallace they are the best team in the league, they have DEFINITELY improved in the off-season but no one knows how they will mix together as a team.
Mix together? None of their players are ball hogs. They all hustle, play defense, and shoot good shots. They shouldnt have any problem gelling together on offense.
That doesn't matter, in the NBA ego's take over at any time even if they don't seem like that type of player, they have made alot of changes so no one knows how there chemistry will work out. They still lack a star player which is one of the MOST important things in the NBA, all of the past champ's have had a star player, Duncan, Wade, Chauncey and so on.
CB4, how about sticking to one side here? You're arguing with me about whether the Bulls will be good, you say they won't. Then you argue with Heatfan that the Bulls will be good. Make up your mind.
I will say it again. The bulls will be the 4 seed. They are not a better team than the cavs or the pistons. Actually, ill put the cavs and bulls at 2 and 3 in the division. They will be fighting it out for that 2nd spot BEHIND the pistons. I hear a lot of talk about chemistry on the teams this year. There is NO team in the east with better chemistry than that of the detroit pistons. Believe it or not, the loss of wallace actually IMPROVES the team chemistry from last year to this year. Everyone on the team was sick of hearing him moan about his playing time and how the team didnt work hard enough to get better on defense. Flip fired back that Ben wasnt working hard enough to get better on offense. And its true. Wallace repeatedly criticized the team and Flip to the press about how he wasnt getting enough playing time and that the team wasnt working hard enough on defense. This is actually one of the reasons that Detroit didnt fight to keep him. The pistons arent losing any sleep over losing wallace. IMO, ben was frusterated that he couldnt do the things that he used to and he needs great defensive players around him (chauncy, tayshaun, rasheed) to HIDE his weaknesses. His weaknesses were exploited CONTINUOUSLY at the end of the year and into the playoffs and he blamed the team. Basically because he is a pretty bad 1 on 1 defender. Bens strengths are hustle and weak side defense. He leaves his man open continuously to get more rebounds and weak side blocks. And then says that Rasheed should have been there to help him out when Ben's man scores. The bulls are a better team now with Wallace. But I think the people in chicago are thinking more of it than anyone else. The people who watched Ben Wallace day in and day out know what hes about and know what hes capable of. The pistons still have 3 all stars, the 2nd best defensive SF in the league (who can also score and is young), 2 6th man of the year canidates (Flip Murray, McDyess), and more chemistry than anyone else in the league. Im not even going to go into the Heat because they have nothing to do with this conversation as I am talking about the division, not the east. It is STILL Detroit on top with Cleveland and Chicago fighting it out for that 4 seed. I think Chicago will win.
