Not sure about this at first...... But if he can give us 15-20 minutes of rest for LA/Camby it's a great move. Przybilla style!
We have like 10 guys on the active roster. We have to sign players. Most of which will not help us win the title.
Last two years' defensive ratings: 100, 98. 15mpg, 22mpg. We got him for short-term defense off the bench. Somebody who can come in and deliver some hard fouls or set a good screen, and then come out. I've got no problem with that pickup. As we say out here in Idaho, if you need to kill a thousand worms you're better off with 20 one-legged chickens than 10. Well, we don't actually say that. But we should.
Mayber two years it what it takes to get Thomas to sign. Other teams were pursuing him, Ptd isn't high on many player's list, Blazers step up and offer two years to get the deal done? Does this count against the MLE?
You will be quite happy with this pickup. His PER may not be awesome, but his points, blocks, and other good plays come when it counts.
Kurt Thomas is a personification of this iteration of the Blazers: Solid, unspectacular, past its prime. The time has come to tear down and rebuild. We got old, injured, expensive with a thin bench in a hurry.
I have no problem with the vet minimum going to Kurt Thomas. If you can get around the fact that he's old and his prime has passed him, he's a great choice for spot minutes at the 4 and 5 and is well respected around the league as being a bad motha shut yo mouth.
I disagree. Not tear down but retool. We can't tear down considering we have LA and Batum. One good draft and a few trades/signings we will be fine. Would you like to relive the 2004-2005 days maxiep?
We gave up the minimum for him. What other options were there for the minimum? Quit ruining the bunch of apples.
